This is how it started (Elementary Series #01)

Chapter 8

Tomorrow morning, mom woke me up because Sev, Noa and Syl came in our house too early. Good thing, I told mom last night that they will come here today. I washed my face, combed my hair and brushed my teeth before going down.

"Boys, you're too early" reklamo ko habang nakain kami ng breakfast, mom said that I should enjoy the vacation. She won't disturb my sleep, but I must not wake up so late.

"You're just a sleepy head, still on her pajama. Good thing that pajama is cute" Sev said while pointing at my pajama.

"Of course, you will find this cute because this is your gift" I said to him. Mom told us to eat and don't fight in front of the table.

After eating breakfast, we then went in the sala where all their gifts are located. I said that I will just change my clothes and take a bath, so I left them while they are watching cartoons.

I took a bath and change into comfortable clothes; I got their gifts as well. They're still watching the Phineas and Ferb, when I went near them. I arranged all the gifts to the table in front of us. Umupo ako sa gitna ni Sev at Noa kasi may space pa naman do'n. Lahat kami ay naka-upo lang sa isang malaking sofa, I watched the cartoons with them.

"So, as the only girl in the group, I decided to be the first one who will distribute my gift to all of you. Sabi ni daddy before 'Ladies should always be first', any complains?"

All of them are listening quietly to me. They just said 'None' in unison as the answer to my question. Good. I smiled widely, before calling their names, one by one.

"Sylver, please come in front to receive this gift of appreciation and friendship" I called Syl first. They all have the same paper bag so everything is fair and square.

"Nakakakaba naman Liya, akala ko kasali ako sa Mr. Intrams ng school" sabi niya habang lumalapit sakin. Wala naman nakakakaba sa sinabi ko e. Binigay ko na sa kanya yung gift at bumalik na siya sa upuan.

"Mamaya pa yan bubuksan ha. 'Wag kang excited" sabi ko sa kanya kasi akala ko bubuksan na niya yung gift ko.

"Sisilipin ko lang naman" sabi niya kaya naman umiling lang ako sa kanya.

"Next in line. Please come in front, Noa" sabi ko sabay angat ng regalo ni Noa.

"Why did I don't have the appreciation thing that you said when you called Syl?" reklamo niya nung kinuha niya yung regalo sa kamay ko.

"Ganon din naman 'yun, still an appreciation and friendship for my crush before. 'Di na kasi kita crush ngayon e" sabi ko kaya naman natawa lang siya.

"Madami naman nagkaka-crush sakin, ang suplado kasi ni Sev kaya minsan natatakot yung may mga crush sa kanya." Sabi niya at bumalik na sa sofa.

"Lastly, to my best friend na sobrang seryoso at suplado. Sayo na 'to! Sev!" tawag ko sa kanya at umiiling naman siyang lumapit sa akin. Nakangiti rin naman.

"Thank you for this" he said after he got the gift, I just winked at him which I learned from my mom yesterday, He got shock from what I did, even Noa and Syl, but the two just laughed at Sev who's still looking at me, like I did something wrong to him.

"What? Am I ugly when I winked?" I asked them and they just both shook their head. "Why is he so shocked then?" I asked with a pout.

"E nakakagulat naman talaga e, kami ba walang kindat? Unfair naman" sagot ni Noa sakin. Inirapan ko siya imbes na kindatan. Si Sev hindi ako inaasar, si Noa madalas akong asarin, tsaka si Syl, kaya inirapan ko lang silang dalawa.

"So, to end my speech. Thank you sa inyong tatlo for being my friend. Mom said that I should always appreciate the people around me, it's just that even though I want to give a gift to all my friend, maybe I will just save some money because there's a lot of them so I can buy them a gift. Kaya kayo na munang tatlo, tsaka yung isa ko pang best friend ang binigyan ko ng gift. Sino ang sunod sakin?" tanong ko sa kanilang tatlo.
