Chapter 19: The Truth About An Angel

Start from the beginning

Shiki walked toward me slowly until he was in front of me and could look over me. I stared into his lovely eyes and accidentally got lost in them.

“Thank you… Without you I might’ve been bullied a lot or failed a lot of exams. My taste for blood might be more strenuous and people might’ve feared me but you helped me. Thank you, Angel.” He said softly. A small smile grew on my face as He bowed.

“No problem Shiki, I’ll always be here for you when you need me.” I said.

“I saw you looking at this picture I drew when I was younger that time you taught me some Maths,” He handed me a folded piece of paper. I opened it up to see that same picture of the little boy with the girl with the golden medium length hair. “I drew you next to me,” He pointed out. Tears were welling in my eyes… He did like me, a lot too. He drew a picture of me because I helped him! Oh my God. I also didn’t notice but lightly in yellow he had drawn wings indicating I was an Angel. That also nearly made tears roll down my pink cheeks.

“Wow Shiki… I love it.” I muttered trying to not start crying in happiness. I looked up at him, “It’s cute,”

I handed it back to him but he didn’t want it. “You keep it,” He said slowly.

I thought deeply for a few moments, what should I say next? What was going to happen? I started playing with my mother’s necklace for a moment then thought of something!

“Shiki,” I started, “I want you to keep this for a few years. I need you to look after it OK?” I said taking off my mother’s necklace and handing it to him. I placed it into his hands and looked him deeply in the eyes, “It was given to me by my mother and I need you to keep it with you. When you see me next do not act as if you know me or mention I’m your Guardian Angel because this is my future and your past. Act as if you don’t know me—”

“But I’ll treat you as if I find more interest in you, I cannot just ignore you.” He said willingly. I was taken aback at that, this is starting to make a lot of sense.

“OK, but remember I won’t remember you.” I reminded him.

He sighed, “How will I know when you remember me?” He asked, his voice interested and with a slight smile.

I glanced at my mother’s necklace in his hand, “You’ll see me not wearing the necklace. That’s when you’ll know.” I said. His eyes widened and he looked at my necklace in interest. He tightened his grip on it and turned to see the gates. “Do you need me to walk you in? Are you too scared?”

“No, I am fine. I do like you a lot by the way. I shall see you soon. Goodbye, what is your true name?” He asked as he headed for the gates.

I caught up to him, “You’ll find out soon don’t worry. Goodbye Shiki.” I stood on my toes as I looked at his forehead, “Dammit, I’m not tall enough to reach you anymore…” I whispered and stood back again. I felt a little disappointed I couldn’t kiss him anymore and he was a little old for me to ruffle his hair. I laughed at that thought.

“OK.” He said and bent over to kiss mine slowly and gently. It was quick, less than a second but my face blew up hot red. My heart began to race and all I could think was: He just kissed me! He just kissed me! He just kissed me! Only on the forehead though but who cares! I cannot believe this!

“But remember Shiki, I will not know you when I see you next OK? And take very good care of that necklace, it was given to me by my mother and I love it a lot. You should give it back to me when you notice me not wearing it then I shall know that you know I am your Guardian Angel.” I instructed. He nodded and also bowed.

“Yes I shall.” He stared at me for a moment. I looked around, what did he need help with?

“Um, are you lost or something?” I asked him, “I need to help you with something.”

He glanced at the gates to the Academy, “Walk me in?” He asked.

I smiled and nodded, “Sure,” I replied jollily.

As we made our way through the gates, I decided to point a few things out to him, “The fountain, and the trees aligning in the wood…” And so on. I gazed upon him, his straight figure and silent facial expressions. He was so dramatic but silent all the time. He was so different to the other night class students. A very lonely Vampire in my eyes.

“I should be going now.” I exclaimed pointing toward the gate. “Don’t worry, the students are nice and annoying at times but you’ll enjoy yourself. Be happy for me OK?”

He nodded slightly and continued to stare over the fountain and ahead. “Farewell.” He whispered. He sounded somewhat sad for I was leaving but I couldn’t stay. If I were to be noticed by Kaname or anyone I’d be in so much crap!

“Yes, goodbye—for now Shiki Senri!” I called to him as I ran toward the gates and over the bush where Terra was. She grinned at me and I leapt over the bush and grabbed her hands. She concentrated and we quickly blurred away for the fifth and final time.

We came to be in Terra’s home once again sitting in front of the Blue Pearl. It had turned a dark purple colour and looked somewhat depressing. I also felt very sick from the travel we had just gone through. My stomach did summersaults and I thought I could taste my breakfast again. Terra opened her eyes and grinned, “Well, it may feel like a dream but you just made a difference in History! Congratulations!” She cheered.

At that exact moment, we both heard a loud banging noise at the front door on the porch; I instantly span to look at the cupboard like door in a petrified state as I heard voices yell, “This is the Vampire Hunters Association!  Open up! We are placing you under arrested for suspicion of abusing your abilities of being a Pure Blood Vampire and turning several humans like your kind. You need to reveal yourself on you porch or we will break into your home and capture you there.”

I gasped, “Terra!” I whispered dramatically, I saw her eyes were wide in fear.
