***Rachel's p.o.v*** ***Later that night***

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Just a second!" I called out as I finished putting on my pajama top.

I walked over to the door and opened it, letting Freed in before I closed the door behind him.

"Make yourself at home," I said to him as I walked towards my dresser.

"Aren't you going to bed?" Freed questioned, noticing me walk away.

"In a minute, I'm just going to brush my hair out before bed," I answered.

I pulled out my brush before Freed's hand stopped me, making me turn to him.

"May I?" Freed asked, gesturing towards my hairbrush.

I was surprised by the offer, but nodded none the less, "Yeah, sure."

Freed grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the bed, placing me in front of him, sitting me between his legs.

Freed got to work, pulling my hair aside and started to brush it out, apologizing whenever he hit a knot.

I brushed it off every time he muttered an apology, finding it really sweet that he wanted to do this in the first place.

Freed ran the brush through my hair once more before he finally felt satisfied.

Placing the brush down beside him I was surprised when Freed's hand started running through my hair.

I closed my eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of his long slim fingers running through my hair. I didn't even realize I let out a small moan, completely lost in relaxation.

"Have I ever told you how much I love it when you do that?" I muttered.

This caught Freed off guard as he asked, "You like it when people mess with your hair?"

I opened my eyes. "Normally no. I mean, I never minded it when people played with my hair, but I never felt relaxed when they did it. But whenever you do it and only you, I always feel relaxed. It doesn't affect me if someone else does it," I answered.

"Someone else tried?" Freed asked as he paused.

"Apparently, Laxus tried when I broke down in that panic attack back at the Grand Magic Games. He said he wanted to try it since whenever you did it, it calmed me down, but when he tried it didn't affect me at all. I don't know why, but apparently it only relaxes me when you do it," I explained.

"Hmmm," Freed hummed, continuing to stroke my hair again.

"Speaking of Laxus, I learned something new today that I think you'll be interested in," I said to him.

"Oh?" he questioned.

I explained to him what Gajeel said about dragon slayer kin relationships and how that involves Laxus and me.

"So Laxus will get extremely protective of you if I'm not around?" Freed questions.

"Yeah, pretty much," I answered simply.

"Interesting. I didn't know this about dragon slayers," Freed mumbled as he stroked my hair.

I sighed in content at the feeling of his fingers running through my hair.

"I really do love it when you do that. It's one of the things I love most about you," I said out of the blue.

"Really? Well, I'm glad you like it so much. I'm also glad you like my cowlicks so much as well," Freed purred into my ear, making me shiver.
