Chapter 49: Abduction of Guild Masters

Two days have passed since the scene that happened in Qedium, right after Steve and I won our slot for the Top 10 who'll participate in the Grand Finals. My brother seized control of the city, taking advantage of our authority as the top Guild of Greida for this year. Since SLG North offered the assistance of the Assassins's of our Guild's Intelligence unit during the meeting before the Regional Tournament, my brother also used this asset to find the player who almost abducted me.

Matatandaan na nilatag sa amin ni SLG North ang issue tungkol sa isang member ng Royal Family ng Doryeshid, sa general meeting namin, bago ang Regional Tournament sa Galgaton. They were thinking that the ones who captured me were really aiming to get my brother, who's actually a Guild Master.

Everyone was reminded of SLG North's report about Gerardum, a Prince of the Doryeshid Royal lineage. This AI Boss, Prince Gerardum, demanded the capture of high ranking leaders, in order to spare the lives of the players he encountered in his dungeon room.

Pero alam namin ni Daniel na hindi si Kuya ang pakay ng tatlong player na kumuha sa akin sa araw ng Semifinals. We both know that they are really after me; the owner of the Ember Amulet. Alam kong narinig talaga ni Daniel ang taong naka-kilala sa akin, bago ako tumungtong sa battle cube.

Kahit ba hindi kami masyadong nag-uusap ni Daniel, para bang pinagsang-ayunan namin unconsciously na 'wag sabihin sa kahit na sino ang tunay na pakay ng mga kumuha sa akin. We just allowed them think that it was Gerardum's deal with the players that caused my almost-abduction.

For the past two nights, or Leimhyark daytimes, my brother only mobilized the intelligence units to scout the whole city, in search of the players who almost took me away. Wala kaming trabaho sa school ngayon dahil special non-working holiday, kaya sumabay na rin ako sa pag-online ni Kuya ngayon.

They're also searching for the very Guild that sent those those three players. Na-cancel ang lahat ang dungeon raid schedules at naka-yellow alert ang buong Guild. Yellow, meaning that all Guild Members are to stay in the Guild base, except for the deployed scouts that are out in the city today. This is SLG North's suggestion to my brother.

"Kuya. Ano ba naman." bulong ko sa kanya nang umupo na siya sa upuan sa dulo ng lamesa. "You don't have to go this far just to avenge me. I'm totally fine. I'm here. Wala namang nangyari talaga sa'kin."

Kakatapos lang ni Kuya i-evaluate ang report ng ilang squads na pinakalat niya sa syudad ng Qedium ngayong araw. Abalang-abala din ang mga officers dito sa Guild Hall, sa pagsagot ng in-game calls na mula sa mga members ng intelligence unit namin, at patuloy na nagbibigay ng info kay Kuya.

Parang masyadong seryoso ang ginagawa niya ngayon, to the point na parang hindi na ito game. Nagmumukha na kami police station o di kaya naman ay military base dahil sa mga nangyayari sa paligid. Hindi ko siya kinausap tungkol sa mga ginawa niya pagkatapos akong maligtas ni Daniel at ang sumunod na araw. But since he even canceled all the Guild's scheduled activities, I had to confront him already because this is going way too far.

Humarap sa akin si Kuya at bumuntong-hininga. "You have to understand Galio; this is not about avenging you. You should remember what SLG North reported several weeks ago. Baka ngayon na kumikilos ang mga nanghuhuli ng Guild Masters para ibigay sa Gerardum na 'yan. They might be taking unsuspecting players like you, as hostages, to lure us leaders into surrendering to them. Hindi naman ako papayag. Safety ng lahat ang inaalala ko Galio, dahil kahit sino ay pwede nila i-kidnap para pasukuin ako."
