"Why's Tony off to with the Accords?" Steve curiously asks me when he and Sam eventually re-enter the office.

Pushing myself off the glass wall, I shrug "I signed."

Immediately I watch the confusion drop from Steve's expression. His bulky arms folding defensively across his chest as Sam purses his lips. The news went over about as well as I expected it to be honest. Shaking his head, Steve mutters "Of course you sided with Tony."

"I didn't side with anyone Steve", I wander his way "I played it smart. With me on the inside I can hopefully keep you, Sam and Bucky all out of a jail cell with Tony's help."

"No Adeline you sided with him", Steve stubbornly argues back at me "It's no surprise. You both think the same, walk the same, act the same I should've seen it coming from a mile away-"

Right then and there I lose control over my entire being. Blame it on the strain of the past day or the arguments which have stemmed from left to right but I let go of all self-control. Fist balled by my side I swing it at Steve and forcefully smacking it up into the hand he grabs my fist with. But I knew he'd catch it. Steve has no time to stare at me surprised because my left fist goes flying furiously, connecting with the side of Steve's jaw. Thankfully Sharon has yet to re-enter the control room so I'm spared a zapping. Instead, I'm met with Steve's stunned stare after his heads snapped to the side from the brute force I packed behind my punch.

"I'm my own person. I'm not picking sides in you and Tony's petty feuding", I state with crystal clarity "I signed so I'd have your back if events go sideways- quit accusing me of betraying you."

The bustling around outside the control room shifts my attention. Agents move further towards the surveillance screens which peeks my curiosity. "The psychologist must be here", Sam murmurs through the thick tension in the room. Brushing my gaze over the screens I finally find the one where the psychologist is setting his things up on a metal table. "Bird costume", I hear Sam distastefully speak up behind me, my focus remaining solely on Bucky.
