-Brooklyn-
"I'm your father." He said.
"I don't have time for this right now." I said and I turned away as tears streamed down my face. I could hear him follow me and then his feet got replaced by someone else.
I ran into somebody and I mumbled a sorry and kept going.
"Brooke!" It was Shawn.
"I don't have time for this!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face. I kept walking. I didn't even know where I was going. I ran down the big hill and I could hear two sets of feet running after me that eventually turned into one.
I had this huge adrenaline rush and it was like nothing was stopping me.
Tears blurred my vision and my hair stuck to my face.
I didn't want anyone to see me like this.
I ran to the little pond down a few blocks and sat down on the rocks. I caught my breath as I sat there.
"You thought you lost me didn't you?" It was Shawn.
I froze.
He sat down next to me and just looked at the water I glanced at him and when I saw he was looking at me I looked the other way.
He laughed.
It was silent for a few seconds.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there today." He said quietly.
I was silent.
"I was really busy." He continued.
I was silent.
I was afraid if I spoke I would burst into tears.
He placed his hand on my back.
I froze and he moved his hand away.
I felt so bad.
"C-can you just take me home?" I managed to get out before I bursted out in tears.
"Of course." He said.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw him stand up so I did too.
As I stood up I stumbled and Shawn wrapped his arm around my waist and I wrapped my arm around the back of his neck.
"Are you okay babe?" He asked.
I nodded and bit my lip to keep from full out sobbing.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.
I shook my head no and continued to bite my lip.
"Okay." He said.
He practically carried me to his car.
He opened the door for me and set me in the passenger seat. He closed the door for me and got in the drivers seat. The whole time I was biting my lip. Practically chewing on it.
Shawn started his car and it dinged.
"Baby you need to put your seatbelt on." He said.
I struggled with plugging it in and began to get frustrated when Shawn's gentle hands took it from me and did it for me.
"Thank you," I whispered.
He smiled and placed his hand on my thigh.
He rubbed it up and down in a comforting way.
The whole car ride he rubbed my leg and kept one hand on the wheel. Every once in a while he would look at me.
When he pulled up to my house he practically ran out of the car and to the other side to help me out.
"Shawn I'm not pregnant or anything I don't need your help getting out." I said.
He laughed and helped me anyways.
He walked me to the door and I fumbled for my keys.
I tried shoving them in the door but failed and they fell To the floor. Shawn bent down and grabbed them and opened the door with ease.
"Thank you." I whispered.
He set the keys on the counter and shut the door behind us.
"Are you staying?" I whispered making my way towards the kitchen.
"Do you really think I would leave you alone?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"Well I wouldn't." He said. "And I'm not."
"What if I wanted you to leave?" I asked.
"Then I would leave." He stated. "Do you want me to?" He asked.
"No." I said, my voice was raspy.
He smirked and came and engulfed me in a hug.
When I pulled away I walked into the kitchen.
"I need a drink." I stated.
He laughed and followed me.
I grabbed a glass and got some Apple juice.
I sighed walking into the living room and sitting down on the couch.
Shawn sat next to me and rested his arm on the back of the couch.
I leaned my head against his shoulder and put my legs over his.
"Where were you today?" I asked.
"A-uh-"
"Shawn I swear to god-"
"I was with Geoff." He said.
"That's a lie." I said leaning back.
His face got pink and I immediately felt like I was going to cry.
I stood up and rubbed my eyes to prevent myself from crying.
"Shawn Peter Raul Mendes you tell me right now!" I said.
"I-I-I'm going on tour." He said.
I whimpered and turned around stuffing my face in my hands.
I felt him engulf me in a hug from behind and I turned around so I was facing him.
I was still in his arms.
Right then is when I let it all out.
My mom, my grandma, finals, Leo, tour, Everything.
He rubbed my back and just kept hugging me until I slowed down.
When I was done crying we stood there for a minute before I pulled away and looked into his eyes.
"When?" I managed to get out.
"When?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Never." He whispered and crashed his lips to mine.
It had been so long since I had kissed him and it felt so good. It felt right. I missed it.
His hands started on my face and then moved down and picked me up and spun me around as I kissed him. I smirked against his lips and he put me on his back. I stuffed me face into the crook of his neck laughing and then kissing it causing him to moan.
I laughed.
He carried me upstairs and we sat down on my bed together.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.
"About what?" I asked biting my lip.
"Anything."
"I don't know,..." I said.
"What happened today?"
"What do you mean?" I asked turning to him and biting my lip.
"Brooke when I got you from the hospital you were running and Cam was chasing you."
"Oh." I said looking down. "Leo told me something." I said.
"What did he tell you?" He asked. "Because I'll beat his ass."
"He's my dad."
He was silent for a few seconds and then he spoke up.
"How do you feel?" He asked.
"Betrayed and like a piece of shit." I responded.
"Baby I'm so sorry." He said.
"You know I can't even look at any of them?" I asked. "They knew they all knew and no one told me!"
He rubbed my back.
"How could they do that?!" I yelled getting frustrated.
He just let me take all my anger out on him as I slapped his chest or banged my fists on the bed.
Angry tears poured down my face.
I groaned and lightly cried.
"Are you staying here?" He asked.
"I don't know." I sighed.
"You can stay at my house." He said.
I sighed and looked up at him.
"Can I?" I asked.
"Of course babe." He said.
"I like when you call me that." I said.
"Babe?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said. "It's sexy." I smirked.
He laughed and pecked my lips.
I grabbed my black north face backpack and threw some outfits in it and my makeup and straightener. Then I moved into the bathroom grabbing my brush, my toothbrush and toothpaste and some makeup remover wipes along with some face wash.
I zipped the bag up and threw it over my back.
"Okay I'm ready." I said.
"Are you going to leave a note or something?" He asked.
"Nope." I responded, popping the p.
"Okay." He smiled.
"Shawn?" I asked.
"How did I get so lucky?" I asked. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"You didn't." He said. "I did."
I smiled and he grabbed my hand and we descended down the stairs and out the door, to the car.
"Shawn." I whispered in the car.
"What?" He asked.
"Tour?" I questioned.
"Yeah?" He said.
"You're going." I responded.
"Come with me." He said pulling the car over.
"Shawn I can't."
"I know." He whispered.
"I don't want to leave you." He said. "Especially now."
"You have to." I said. "And if I have to I will drag you on that plane."
He laughed.
"When are you leaving?" I asked.
"1 month."
"See we can spend the next month together!" I exclaimed. "And well have tons of fun!"
"What are we going to do after that?" He asked.
"Long distance?" I asked.
"I don't want to break up." He said.
"Me neither."
"You're the best damn thing that's happened to me in a while." He said.
I smiled.
"Now drive." I whispered and motioned to the wheel and he put the car in drive and started towards his house.
When we got there it didn't look like anybody was home but when we got in Aaliyah was there.
"Hey Shawn!" She exclaimed.
"Brooke." She said quietly smiling. "Aaliyah." I said smiling back.
We broke out laughing and have each other a hug.
"I missed you." She said.
"You too." I said chuckling.
"Shawn would not stop talking about you." She said.
"Aaliyah!" He said quiet, blushing.
"Seriously it was annoying." She said.
I laughed.
"I wanted to punch him in his face." She added.
I laughed again and looked at Shawn who was red.
"Don't we all." I said. "Don't-we-all-"
I pressed my lips to his and our lips moved in sync.
"Ew!" Aaliyah said. "You guys are gross!" She exclaimed.
I laughed and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I pecked his lips and smiled.
"Want to go upstairs?" He whispered.
I nodded.
"Fine then!" Aaliyah screamed as I walked up the stairs. "Leave me here, alone!" She yelled.
I laughed.
When I got upstairs I saw Shawn's guitar.
"Play me a song!" I exclaimed.
He laughed.
"Please!" I exclaimed.
He grabbed his guitar and I threw my bag to the floor.
"Requests?" He asked.
"Sweater Weather."
He smirked and strummed a few chords on his guitar before playing the beat of the song.
About halfway through the song I started to drum a beat on his desk with my hands. Aaliyah came up and started to clap her hands to the beat.
"So won't you hold both your hands in the holes of my sweater." We all sang the last verse together and were surprised to hear clapping from someone other than ourselves.
We all turned to the doorway to find Shawn's mom standing there.
"That was great kids." She said.
I smiled.
"Are you staying for dinner?" She asked looking at me.
Suddenly all the memories of why I was here flooded back to me and I looked to Shawn for help.
"Brooke's staying the night." He said.
"Okay!" His mom exclaimed walking away.
I looked at Shawn and then to Aaliyah.
"I'm gonna go help mom with dinner." She said.
As she left she shut the door.
"Are you okay?" Shawn asked.
I nodded turning away.
"Why do you always do that?" He asked.
"What?" I said.
"Turn away." He responded. I felt his hands on my waist and he roughly spun me around.
His lips crashed onto mine. Although I was taken by surprise I kissed him back and ran my fingers through his hair.
He moaned against my lips.
I laughed.
"What does that feel good?" I asked.
He nodded. "Now I get why girls play with their hair so much keep doing that." He grumbled pulling me by my waist to his bed. He sat down and I got behind him.
I gently ran my fingers through his hair.
"Shawn?" I asked after a few minutes.
"Yeah?" He grumbled.
"When you leave-"
He cut me off.
"We're not breaking up." He said sternly.
"I wasn't gonna say that." I said quietly.
"I just- we never really talked about it. Like who's going on your with you and how'd it happen and when and where are you going,.." I trailed off when I saw him smile at me.
"Fifth Harmony and Austin Mahone." He said.
I smiled.
"That's great!" I exclaimed. "Except don't be flirting with any of those girls." I added.
"Why would I want to when I have the most wonderful girl ever?"
I smiled and brought my lips down to his.
"Tell me more." I said pulling away.
I sat down next to him and looked into his eyes.
"Only." He paused. "If you play with my hair."
"You're such a girl Mendes." I said.
I sat behind him and wrapped my legs around his waist.
"So where are you going?" I asked.
"First we're going to New York." He said.
"Ooh." I said. "I looked at a college there when we went there for Magcon." I said.
He smiled.
"And Austin Mahone?" I asked. "He's pretty c-" he looked at me. "Ugly." I finished.
I felt him tense up beneath me and I rubbed his arms to release the tension.
"Relax." I said sarcastically. "I would never cheat on you with him. I would pick someone hotter than that, God." I finished.
"That's it." He said turning around and smashing his lips to mine.
I giggled wrapping my arms around his neck and moving onto his lap.
I pulled away and looked into his eyes.
"I would never, EVER, cheat on you." I said.
He smirked and blushed.
"So are you excited?" I asked, getting comfortable on his lap.
"Yeah, I mean this is great." He said.
"Yeah." I closed my eyes. "It is."
"Hey." He said grabbing my face. "We got this." He said.
"You've got this." I corrected. "I can barely hold myself together." I said.
"You'll make it out alive." He smiled.
I pecked his lips and smiled.
"Kids dinner's done!" His mom yelled.
"What's for dinner?" I asked as we walked downstairs.
He grabbed my hand and stopped halfway down the stairs and sniffed the air.
"Spaghetti and Meatballs," he said and as we walked down the stairs I saw that he was right.
He smiled and winked at me as he pulled out a chair for me to sit.
"M'lady." He said.
"Thank you sir." I smiled.
Mrs. Mendes served everyone and Aaliyah began conversation.
About halfway through dinner the doorbell rang and Mr. Mendes got up to answer it.
"Brooke!" He called. I looked at Shawn and got up and walked towards the door.
"Yes sir-"
I looked at who stood there and felt the heat rise to my cheeks.
