"Hey, Daddy," Jace smiled innocently.

"Hi, sweetie," Jace's father cooed, sitting snugly on his leather arm couch. His finger tapped his forehead impatiently.

"Look who I brought," Jace announced.

She brought us inside the apartment by pulling on the chain that wrapped around us.

"I told you to kill them," he said sternly.

"I know," Jace replied sheepishly. "but I felt like I should carry out my other plan."

Aaron started to vibrate quick enough to break the chains.

"You can't order me around," Jace growled, her voice tense. "You only think about yourself, and you don't even think of me as your daughter. Though I may be biologically related to you, I will not consider you as my real father."

Jace, Aaron, and I turned to walk out of the apartment.

"Jace!" Her father muttered. "You're grounded!"

"Is that the best you could do?" Jace teased, and she closed the door.
