Aaron was obviously the first one to sit at and the first one to leave the dinner table. At the table, he repeated why he was going to live here from now on, so that Mom and my brother Jack would understand.
Everyone in the house knows that he's fast, but Aaron wants to keep the full extent of his speed as a secret. Only I know about his backstory and his full potential so far.
My family has varying theories about how Aaron's speed came to be. Jack thinks he's a superhero who was born with his powers. My dog barks at him like he's a ghost whenever he zooms by him. Mom thinks he's a naturally hyper caffeine addict.
But Aaron was proud of the title. No, not Caffeine Addict. Superhero. Every night after dinner, he would call me to hang out in his bedroom downstairs, and he would ramble on and on about how much he desired to save lives. Then I would tell him how he has saved my life back at the earthquake at school.
I always wanted to be a superhero too.
