The doorbell rang. Mom yelled my name from the living room.
"It's okay, Mom. Aaron will get it," I spoke drowsily under the covers.
I didn't hear or feel anything zoom past my room.
He's not here. He's outside the house.
I groaned, slipped the covers off, and walked slowly down the stairs. When I opened the front door, he wasn't there.
Aaron blew on the back of my head.
"Stop!" I jumped, wincing from the contact with his breath. Once I opened my eyes, he was beaming.
