"Aaron, you saved his life!" I shouted.
"Who's life?" Aaron replied, clueless.
I scoffed. "The little boy!"
"Yes! I did!" He remembered. Then the realization settled in. "I did..."
"Why'd you wake up so early to go to the track?" I asked him. It was the only place at the school that wasn't ruined by the earthquake, and since over half of the school has been destroyed in said earthquake, school has been canceled for a while. "You could just run circles around the neighborhood."
"I don't know," Aaron smiled at his feet.
He just can't wait.

A week later, Mom tossed the newspaper towards me.
