"You didn't even try on that 200-meter dash," I smirked.
Aaron smirked back, his eyes still looking into mine.
His grandparents moved back to Eastern Europe.
"Anyway, I'm staying with you because my grandparents are family friends with your mom, and they think I'd be fine on my own while they move back to Europe," Aaron said. Sometimes he would tell me that people made fun of his accent, but I found his voice soothing whenever he spoke. "I forgot to tell you that earlier," he added, rolling onto his side.
"Don't worry," I replied, twirling my pencil. "I already knew."
