Eli sold his soul to the devil to save his family and his village. He asked for fertile lands with clean water. The devil granted him that but it all went wrong when Eli went out of village borders and got tuberculosis. He died and went to hell since he done something bad to do good, so he was sent to hell for seeking help from the devil. 

Eli had grown and adapted to being a demon and getting used to his powers. He was then given the choice to stay in hell or live on earth with some rules. He must stretch his wings and fly everyday, he can't fall in love. And the one that broke Eli the most was that he couldn't go back to his family. 

But as time went on, he slowly started to adapt to the new world, from horse and carriages to cars, from phones on walls with wires to mobile phones and so on. But also he fell In love and boy did he fall hard.
