You were a Slytherin going into your 5th year. You became a prefect and had to bunk with another perfect and you were waiting on the top bunk in your dorm for them to arrive.
Even though you were a slytherin, you were always nice to people. You actually mostly hung out with the Gryffindors. Sitting at their table, hanging out of week ends/after school, studying, doing homework.
Your family was the only one with enough sense to not want anything to do with Voldemort, so these reasons led to most of Slytherin hating you. You made sure to stick up for yourself and for your friends though.
The year had just begun, as in the feast had ended like 20 minutes ago. You were happy to be spending another year with your friends, Hermione, Ron, Harry, Neville, Luna, the twins, Ginny and only when the door opened you realized you had been lost in your thoughts.
You looked over the side of the bed and froze in your place. Draco Malfoy. You had to share a room with Draco Malfoy.
You smiled and went down the ladder to the floor. You go to your trunk and pull out some sheets.
"What are you doing?" Draco says confused. He also had an annoyed tone in his voice.
You took out your wand and charmed the blankets so that they went around your bed on top, so that you couldn't see what was up there.
"What's that for?" Draco says looking at to space above you.
"So I can my privacy and you can have yours." You say with a 'duh' expression.
"Oh, okay then." He says starting to unpack his trunk. He had his usual 'scrunged up nose' face on, but you paid him no more attention than needed.
You already finished so you took out your text books and placed them on your desk, which you claimed by putting your bag on it earlier.
Even though it was 9:30, you decided to get ready for bed.
You take a quick shower, brush your teeth, hair etc. When you get out of the bathroom Draco is gone. You grab your book and go behind the sheets surrounding your bed, hunkering down for the night.

You wake up 6:30 and get up, and get ready (no need for detail right?). You walk through the common room one your way to get to the great hall. You get some looks, but you just ignore them and keep walking.
You get to the great hall and sit with the Gryffindors. You sit next to Harry. "So, now there are three perfect at the table." Harry says jokingly. "Oh and, who is your roommate (y/n)?" He says turning to you. "You'll never believe it but, Malfoy." You say looking at all of them. "Oh Merlin, no way!" Harry says looking at you. You have herbology with Ravenclaw so you find Luna and go to the greenhouses.
Classes go by easy, all the professors talk about the O.W.L.s and what to expect from them. You have 2 essays due by the end of the week
Now your at dinner. "Hey, do you guys want to meet up and do the potions essay together?" You ask shoving a potato on your fork. "Yes, definitely, and we can the transfiguration one as well? Let's say meet up in the Gryffindor common room at 8:30?" "Um sure, should be done with detention then anyways." Harry says gloomily. "How did you get detention on the first day?" You ask almost yelling. "Actually for the first week, and second, she deserved it." He said seriously. You looked at him for a moment and he looked a bit angry. "Harry are you alright?" You ask concerned, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Yes, perfectly fine." He responds almost tense. You pull him to where he his looking at you. "Harry, we have been friends since year one, I know when something is bothering you." You bring him closer so only he can hear you. "Please, tell me." You feel him shiver. "I'll tell you later," he whispers back. He leans back and turns to his plate. Ron was looking at you. "What?" "What were you two whispering about?" He asks raising an eyebrow. "Ugh, Ronald!" Hermione says waking his arm. "I'm just asking!" You and Harry roll your eyes.
You go back to your dorm and look on the clock on the wall. 7:45. You have a little less than an hour until you have to go. You have to write a 1 foot long parchment on moonstone and their uses. "Pansy is going to be here at 8:30, so I expect you to be gone." Draco says walking into the room. "I have somewhere to be anyways, but I'm going to be back by at least midnight, so be warned." You say looking at him.
You look at your notes for a bit longer and at 10 past 8 you walking into the darkened hallways. "Lumos." You say lighting your wand at the tip. You make your way out of the dungeons, and up to Gryffindor tower. When you get there, the fat lady lets you in after you say the password. She knew you, so you were fine.
When you get there Ron and Hermione are sitting in chairs by the fire. "(Y/n), you made it! We are just waiting on Harry now." Hermione says turning to her parchment. You plop down in an armchair and you all start to talk about things while you wait for Harry.
About 20 minutes later he comes through the portrait hole. "Finally!" Ron says getting his school things out of his bag. "What did she make you do?" Hermione asks getting her quill. "Um, just lines." He says with a monotone voice. He sits down in his (what you discovered) favorite arm chair. He gets his parchment, quill, and textbook out as well. But you notice he is being careful with his left hand.
After about 2 hours, your 3/4 the way done. Your hand aches from writing for so long. "Should we finish now? I told Draco I would be back by at least 12 and it's only 10:45 right now." You say glancing at everyone. "Yea, no problem." Hermione says looking at her paper. Ron and Harry look ready to go to bed but the they agree anyways, wanting to get this essay out of the way.
Finally, you all finished. It's 11:47. You look at Harry who is looking at the floor. You all pack away your things. "Well I'm off to bed, night 'mione, Harry, (y/n)." Ron says before going up the stairs to the boys dorms. "Same here. Same time tomorrow, right?" Hermione says turning to you. "Yea, see you tomorrow 'mione." She turns around and goes up to the girls dorms.
You turn to Harry. "So Harry, are you going to tell me what's wrong now? Why did you yell at Umbridge?"
"I'm just to tired of everyone calling me a 'nutter' and that I'm lying about some I saw right infront of me! And it doesn't hall that Umbridge is here, it's like she's doing it on purpose!" Harry was angry, his hand were in fists. Knuckles turning white. "Harry, I know I'm not in your exact situation, but I do know how it feels to have people giving you looks, and calling names." Your hands are on his shoulders and your looking at him. "I just wish people would open their eyes and not- not-" "-be idiots?" You say slightly chuckling. "Yea, idiots." He says chuckling as well. You two continue to talk for a while and you listen to him.
You glance up at the clock and see it's 12:13. "Oh, Harry I'm sorry, but I should get going." You say getting up from your squashy armchair. "Oh yea, no problem." Harry responds, getting out of his own armchair. "You know Harry, you can always just ask me to talk, you know, just an owl away really." You say turning to him. You kiss him on the cheek and turn to go into the dark hallway. Right before you leave though, you see a light shade of pink tinting his cheeks.
When you get back to your dorm, Draco is asleep so your quiet when putting your bag down and getting ready for bed. You quickly decide that it's far to late to read, so you just go to sleep.
Your surprised by how fast 6:45 came the next day. You dragged yourself out of bed, and get ready like usual. You have a couple minutes until breakfast starts so you decide to read over your essay. Draco starts to stir, eventually waking up. He doesn't talk to you, just goes into the bathroom to get ready. Finally, the time for breakfast comes around. (7:15)
You go to the great hall for breakfast and sit with the Gryffindors. "So (y/n) still want to come by at 8:30 for the second essay?" "Yes definitely." You say smiling at her. You go to your classes and fill out some worksheets for charms and herbology when you get back to your dorm. At 7:00 you make your way to the great hall for dinner.
Harry asks once again if your going to be there for the essay. "Yes Harry, I said that this morning." "Oh, right." You look up from your plate and look at Hermione who is looking at Harry who is looking down, slightly pink in the face.
Time skip: going to Gryffindor tower
When you arrive at the Gryffindor tower, Harry is already there with textbooks in-front of him. He is hiding his hand again. You sit next to him. "Harry, show me your hand." You say firmly. He looks up at you. "What?" "I said show me, your hand." You point at his hidden hand. He sighs. Reluctantly, he pulls his hand out of his pocket and places it in yours. 'I will not tell lies' carved into his hand. "Oh my lord, Harry, is this what Umbridges 'lines' are?" Your getting closer looks at his hand. "Yes, but I can't tell Dumbledore, he has to much in his plate right now." Harry says looking at you starting to heal his hand. "I respect your decision." You say starting to wrap his hand.
Once Ron and Hermione get back from their rounds you begin the second essay. You only have to do a half a foot of parchment this time, so it's much easier. You all finish and you and Hermione read over Ron and Harrys, editing mistakes. You and Harry decided to talk again so you both stay behind when Ron and Hermione go off to bed.
You two talk for a bit before you eventually leave to go back to the dungeons.
About a week later your sitting in the Gryffindor common room once again. Hermione looks between Harry and Ron before speaking. "Harry, since Umbridge isn't teaching us real defense, I was thinking, maybe you could teach it." She says keeping her time calm, but clear. Harry thinks for a couple moments. "Um, yeah, maybe."
Next thing you know, the wall to the room of requirement is being busted down. You did notice how that day cho wasn't there, and you know Harry felt something for her. "I have to thank your friend for telling me about these meetings, where they were." Umbridge says from in-front of you. Now, your one of the many members in the DA who have words carved in their hands.
You were talking to Harry, since he was banned from quidditch he didn't have a lot to do. "Can I ask you something?" He looks at you kind of nervous. "Yea, what is it?" "I was wondering if, maybe, you wanted to go to hogsmead with me?" You felt heat rise to your cheeks. "Um, sure thing." You couldn't help the blush on your cheeks. He looked relieved. "Um meet me at the courtyard this Saturday?" "Sure thing Potter, but you have to finish your schoolwork first." You say jokingly. "Ugh, fine." He says giving his dopey grin. Well, good thing it's Friday, so I'll meet you tomorrow, see you at dinner!" You say walking off to go to your dorm. You decided to practice some charms and transfiguration while you waited for dinner to roll around.
You looked at the clock, you had five minutes. You put on your robes and shoes, descending the stairs leading to the common room. You make your way to the great hall and sit next to Hermione and Harry sees you but quickly looks away so you don't see him blushing. "(Y/n) can you help me with my school work tomorrow, then we can just leave right after I'm done?" Harry says turning to you. "Um yea, what time?" You say looking up from your plate. "Um, how about 8?" "Yea, I'll be there."
You get up from your seat, grab your bag, say goodbye to your friends, and got to your dorm. As your walking the halls you decide to take a shower before you go to bed. When the warm water his you, your worries for tomorrow melt away. When you get out you look at the clock. 8:36. You grab your book, crawl into bed, and read until you fall asleep.
You wake up the next morning at 7:17. You put on clothes and robes and get ready and go down to breakfast.
——————time skip to after breakfast——————
You make your way to the Gryffindor common room. When you get there Harry is sitting at the table in the corner with his school work out. You make your way over there and sit down across from him. You glance at the clock. 8:34. "Harry, the group leaves at 10:30, if we don't finish I can always come back and help if you want." You say looking at him. "Urm, yeah sure." You both get to work. The next time you look at the clock it's 10:13. "Harry, come on we gotta go!" You pull him up by his hand. You both run down the halls trying to get there in time.
"I think we should go to zonkos first. And the candy shop last" You say walking down to the carriages. "Why the candy shop last?" He looks at you. "So we don't eat it all while walking around?" You look at him playfully rolling your eyes. He sniggers a little bit at your truthful sarcasm.
When you both get there you separate from the big crowd and go to zonkos, and of course meeting Fred and George with Lee. "Watch your back (y/l/n) they have new products." Fred says holding up what looks like a pencil, but you know it's much more. You and Harry just continue to look at the products, laughing and playing around.
When you both finally decide to leave you walk out to be hit by the harsh cold. You both shiver a bit. Smoothly he puts his arm around you to 'keep warm' as he says. Then you go to get butter beer. While you are drinking yours however, Harry gets some on his top lip. You giggle a little before swiping it off with your finger, then wiping it on his clothes. "Hey!" He grabs some foam from his cup and swipes it on your cheek. "You. Did. Not." He gets up knowing what's about to happen if he didn't. He quickly gets up and run after him, leaving some galleons on the table. He runs outside and so do you.
You run after him for little while, only stopping to throw a snowball at him, promptly hitting him in the back. He stops running and turns around. Now it was him chasing you. You scream as you see him running after you. You run to the open field, full of fresh snow. You try stalking up in snowballs to throw at him while you can. When he gets there all hell breaks loose. Snow was flying everywhere.
After both of you are almost covered in snow you decide on a tie. You look up at the sky, it's turning colors due to the sun setting. The sky is deep red, orange and turning bark blue. You lay down in the snow and Harry follows your actions laying down next to you. "Wow." Harry says next to you. "I know." is all you say back You see the stars starting to peak through. "You know, the group will be leaving in a little bit." Harry says looking at the purple now forming in the sky. "Yea, but we have a little bit of time left." You say turning your attention to the pinkish orange. You both lay there for a little while longer, watching the sun slowly go down. When there is little light left in the sky you both get up and make your way back to the carriages.
When you step off your immediately swept off your feet again. "Harry put me down!" You say smacking his arm. "As you wish." He says smirking. Suddenly he drops you in a pile of snow. "Harry!" You say getting up. He starts sprinting to the castle once again with you chasing him.
When you get to the great hall and sit down Ron and Hermione look at you. "Why have you two been running?" Ron asks looking at the snow falling off Harry shoulders. "Harry decided to drop me in the snow, so he had to run from me." You say looking at the food appearing on the plate in-front of you. "It was worth it." Harry says smiling.

That's it, the final blow, and the war is over. You run up to Harry from your spot in the crowd. You hug him tightly, blood and tears running down your face. He hugs you back really tight, like he's afraid you'll disappear if he lets go. "You did it!" You say shaking him by the shoulders. You Hermione and Ron join in on hugging him. You've still liked Harry since your trip since hogsmead, that makes it 5 it total. But, now seeing how you felt with him being 'dead' for a couple minutes, you think you fell in love with him. If anything, you guys have gotten closer with everything that happened.
You four looked at the castle that was in ruins, and crumbled. The memories flow over you like a stream, and you can't help the tears that cloud your vision. Harry sees this and hugs you. "It's okay to cry, but it's over now. We won, for good this time." You nod your head and wipe your eyes.
You four go back to the burrow with everyone else. You felt awful watching George sob along with his mother comforting him, he lost his other half, Fred left to early.
You decided to take a shower, get the dirt and blood off you, and change into the cloths you had left.
You put on your tank top and shorts, letting your silver scars from the torture they put you through show. 'Unlovable' carved in your forearm. Scratches an your arms and legs. You liked them though.
You decide to go outside in the garden after dinner. It's cloudy, and there was very little light left in the sky. You heard the door open, then someone sit next to you. You look over and Harry is sitting there, watching the sunset with you. It's starts to sprinkle with rain. After the sun goes down completely, you sit there for a few moments, letting little flecks of water hit you.
Then, Harry stands up, giving his hand to you. You take it, not really knowing what to expect. He pulls you up. "What are you doing?" You say giggling. He doesn't say anything, he just starts 'dancing' with you. It's starts to rain harder. You both are just swaying in the rain, and you both can't help smiling and laughing.
"(Y/n) can I tell you something, before I loose my courage?" He looks at you seriously. "Yea, what happened?" You look at him, trying to figure how he feels by his face, but you can't tell. "(Y/n) I like you- like a lot, I have for a long time, and I just wanted to tell you, since the war is over and everything..." Now he looks at you, trying to tell what you feel about this. You don't hesitate to hug him tightly. "I like you a lot as well, Harry." You say in the crook of his neck. He pulls away and kisses you, sweetly, lovingly.
By now the rain is pounding, and you are getting more and more soaked. That doesn't stop you kissing back though.
From behind you in the house you can hear the whistles and cheering of everyone but you two don't care, you both eventually pull away, and just keep dancing in the rain, enjoying the freedom of people not trying to kill you, and no longer having to look over your shoulder everywhere you have to go. And fun to think that this kind of started at hogsmead.
