Y/N's POV
The three of us were chilling at Jinyoung's place. We slurped onto our ramen, adding some kimchi into it.

After a few minutes of debating whether I should tell them about Jungkook, I finally made up my mind and cleared my throat to gain their attention.

"I uh, I met Jungkook." I confessed, placing down my chopsticks.

"Really?"

"WHAT?"

Hae Na had a really big reaction while Jinyoung just furrowed his brows at me. It was as if he wasn't surprise.

"How is he? Does he look good in real life? What did you do? Where—"
Hae Na exclaimed, shooting me questions as she almost choked on her ramen.

"Hae Na, calm down. We just talked and apparently he moved in to the unit opposite from mine. Keep this a secret though. I think he wants some privacy."

I explained, earning an 'oh' from Jinyoung. He was acting kinda suspicious.

"Hey," I elbowed him, he ignored me. "Park Jinyoung," and ignored me again.

"Why're you acting like this? It's childish." Hae Na spatted at him. He remained silent, head hung low, staring at his bowl of ramen with an unreadable expression.

"If you're going to keep treating me like I'm invisible, then I'll leave. Good night."

I said with a scoff. After grabbing my bag, I slammed the door shut and walked up to my unit, trying hard not to look at Jungkook's door.

Jinyoung's POV
"What's wrong? You're weird."

Hae Na snapped her fingers in front of my face, bringing me back to reality.

I slowly looked up to face her. She had her brows raised with a questioning expression.

"I can't bear to see Y/N hurt again." I finally spoke up after hearing the door shut, Y/N left.

"I know. I'm a little worried too. She suffered all those years trying to forget about Jungkook. Why must he move in here out of all the places?"
She said and nodded slowly.

"Should we maybe, meet him or something? Do you think he'll remember us? I want to see him in real life! He looks so good on TV."

She leaned her body against the table, batting her eyelashes at me. I simply shook my head with a sigh.

"No, don't. Fate will bring us together."

###
Y/N's POV
"Y/N, let's finish our talk."

He was wearing a white oversized shirt today with a black cap. I stared at his fingers that were wrapped around my wrist.

He noticed me staring and released me almost immediately, "I'm sorry."

I ruffled my hair, let out a heavy sigh and dragged him to a small corner where no one could see us.

Jungkook's POV
"Jungkook, be careful. People might recognise you. Also, stop apologising."
Y/N said with a tint of worry visible in her shaky voice as she looked around.

She sort of kicked me out of her apartment last night. I couldn't give up on her just yet. So, I waited for her downstairs in the morning, hoping that she would want to continue our conversation.

After she came down, she was shook when I appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her wrist. She then dragged me to a corner around the building.

"Where are you going?" I questioned, a small smile formed on my face when her eyes met mine.

"To find a job. It's none of your business. We'll talk another time."

She quickly averted her gaze when I continued staring at her, her cheeks were so red, anyone would've thought that she was drunk.

"You're jobless?" I asked, not trying to sound offensive, but she folded her arms and knitted her brows, scanning me with a very judging pair of eyes.

Typical Y/N, still the same, and yet I thought that she has changed.

"I-I mean, I'm not trying to offend you or anything,"
I laughed awkwardly, trying to kill the thick tension between us.

"Y/N, let's start again. I'll explain everything to you. I might not be the same as before, we might've changed, but at least talk to me. We were friends."
I tried to hold her arm as I reasoned with her.

Fortunately for this time, she didn't push me away. Her eyes softened and she shivered under my touch. I could see her eyes getting watery, so I quickly pulled her into my embrace to let her cry out her heart.

She buried her face into my chest and started sobbing out loud. A few people walked by us, but ignored us when I lowered my cap and turned us around.

It was the first time in so many years I was this close to a girl. My heart was drumming against my rib so loudly, I was afraid that Y/N would hear me.

She was so cold to me yesterday, I felt like she'll never forgive me. She didn't even allowed me to lay a finger on her.

Now that I see how she melted in my arms, I chuckled, remembering the old times, she would come to me and cry when she got bullied by the boys during middle school.

"J-Jungkook," she called out, tapping my arm lightly. I hummed in response, rubbing circles on her back.

Y/N's POV
"I know I'm being a crybaby, who cares. I told myself that I would never go anywhere near you, so me crying now doesn't mean that I forgave you. Sorry I made your shirt wet, but I'm done crying. You can let me go now."

I cringed when my voice came out cracking, wiping away my tears, I saw a wet stain on his white shirt, making me feel low-key bad about it.

I hate myself for being so weak and softhearted. I clearly reminded myself that I wouldn't talk to him or would never see him if he ever appeared in my life.

Why am I so pathetic? Maybe we can really start over. Maybe this time, he wouldn't leave again, that's why I gave in and pushed my pride aside.

We pulled away from the hug and I missed his warmth already, so I quickly wrapped my arms around his waist, leaving him flustered.

Wait, what am I doing?

"U-Uh, I need to go," I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him away a little bit too roughly, causing him to stumble.

I was ready to run for my life out of embarrassment, but before I could do that, a hand caught my forearm and twirled me around.

"Come to Big Hit, Y/N, work as our manager. You clean and arrange my messy locker back in high school and middle school. You set up a timetable for me during our finals. We get to see each other everyday too."

He said, showing his signature bunny smile. I hesitated at first, but after a few minutes, I released myself from his grip and was about to nod, but then I realised something.

"Jungkook, we're not lovers. We don't need to see each other everyday."
I cleared my throat awkwardly when he looked at me with wide eyes.

"N-No! That's not what I meant. I mean, it's just that we haven't seen each other for almost a decade, I just wanted to make it up to you. I didn't mean that we should see each—"

"Okay! I get it, I'll think about it. I have to go now, uh, bye."
And I ran, clutching onto the straps of my bag as I felt my cheeks heating up.

Jungkook's POV
"She's still, well, cute. Same old peanut."
I mumbled for myself to hear after she turned and ran.

Where is she going to in such a rush? I couldn't deny it, I felt happy. Happy that she gave in and accepted me, happy that I met my childhood friend, happy that she's willing to be my friend again.

I waited for the elevator with my hands in my pocket. When it ding-ed opened, a girl, long wavy brown hair with bangs stood before me.

Instantly, I knew her. Sassy as always, she wore a yellow button up shirt with a black skirt that reached her knees.

"Jeon—"

She was about to call for me, but I beat her to it.

"Won Hae Na," We smiled and she rushed out of the elevator, giving me a big friendly hug as I patted her back.

"Jungkook! Wait, you remember me?" She exclaimed, slapping my arms playfully as I broke the hug.

"Of course, I remember. How are you? You're living here too? What about Jinyoung—"
I questioned, an awfully familiar voice interrupted me.

"Hey, Hae Na, you should've used the stairs. Exercise, woman."

I turned to my right and saw Jinyoung walking down the stairs. He stopped when he saw the both of us, he didn't look too surprised though.

"Hyung!" I ran to him and hugged him. He froze for awhile, but returned the hug, ruffling my hair.

"Jungkook? Why're you here? It's been a long time, bro. How are you?"

The three of us then headed to a small coffee shop and I wore a mask as usual. We talked a lot and did some catching up. It's been awhile since I felt this different kind of happiness.

It wasn't the happiness when our fans cheered for us, it wasn't the exciting feeling when we received an award.

I felt like a normal boy hanging out with his normal friends. I felt comfortable that there were no cameras surrounding me. I liked this feeling.

"PD-nim!"
I barged into his office as excitement filled up my body. The chubby man jumped up from his seat and fixed his glasses, narrowing his eyes at me.

"Yes, gguk? What on earth happened to you that made you so excited?"
Bang PD gestured for me to sit and I obeyed, still grinning widely.

"Are you going to do the interview this afternoon personally?"
I rested my hands on his table, tapping onto it as he put down his file and nodded.

"Yes, of course. I have to choose the best manager for you boys, right? What's up?"
He laid back on his chair and crossed his arm.

I hesitated for a moment, but then decided to just go for it. I activated my cute face and puppy eyes as I took his hand into mine.

"Can you do me a favour?"
