Cheers and shouts could be heard from inside the Fairy Tail guild. It had been three days since there victory at the Grand Magic Games and the guild had still been celebrating. It was, after all, the first time Fairy Tail had the spot light in seven years. Lucy sighed as she watched tables being tossed around the room and magical spells flying at one another. 'They're at it again' she thought as her friends were battling each other. The stellar mage was sitting at her usual seat at the bar, safe from the ruckus. She was wearing a sleeveless white shirt with blue trimming and a short navy blue skirt. Her golden blonde hair was down and had a side ponytail that was held together by a blue ribbon, as always she had her brown leather belt that held her trusty whip and precious gate keys. She turned her brown eyes back to the bar taking a sip from her strawberry milkshake.
She was happy that the guild won, she really was, but she couldn't help but feel down by the fact that she did nothing to help. She felt useless, everyone on her team scored at least one point, even Wendy, and yet she didn't. Ever since Team Natsu became a team and went on there first job, she felt like she didn't belong. The way they fought untill they dropped, putting every ounce of strength into there battles was amazing to her. She felt like she couldn't compair to her friends. Lucy sighed as she took the last sip from her milkshake, feeling a bit depressed from her thoughts.
"Is something wrong with the milkshake Lucy?" Lucy's eyes snapped to the beautiful bartender Mirajane. She wore a maroon dress that ended just above her ankles and had a heart shaped cut out on her breasts. Her white wavy hair was down and her bangs were held by a thin rubber band. Her crystal blue eyes held concern as she looked at Lucy. "No, no Mira it's delicious, I guess I'm just not feeling well." Mira's eyes bore into the celestial wizard's as she could tell she was holding out on her. She opened her mouth to say something but Lucy quickly said "I think I'm going to head home." The blonde stood up from the bar stool and put some jewels on the counter to pay for the strawberry drink.
She was heading to the guild doors untill a warm hand found it's way on her shoulder. She turned to see none other than her best friend Natsu Dragneel. The dragon slayer wore a black sleeveless vest with gold trimming and white baggy pants held up by a brown belt. As always he had his white scale print scarf, black sandals, and a mop of spikey salmon hair on his head.
He gave her a concerned smile. "Going home so early?" He asked. "I don't feel to well, Natsu.." she said sadly. He looked twords her worriedly, she never left the guild this early in the afternoon. "Come on Luce, don't leave yet, at least wait for me." Lucy blushed at this remark. The salmon haired boy had often snuck into her room but she never expected him to ask her to wait, as if he lived there with her.
Lucy nodded keeping her eyes on the ground and he smiled and said "Great, but what are you making for dinner?" Lucy's eye twitched as her fist hit his head. "You idiot! Stop acting like you live with me, cook your own food!" She shouted. "But Luce" he whined " Your food is the best. Plus I love those steak kabobs you make."
The blonde rolled her eyes at the dragon slayer and sighed in defeat. No matter what she did he would always find away into her home, might as well keep him happy so he doesn't annoy her the whole night, right? "Fine" she mutterd. Natsu smiled and stared into Lucy's eyes. Most people found Lucy's eyes boring because they were 'plain brown' but to Natsu, Lucy's eyes were mesmerizing. They were chocolate brown and seemed to glow in some lighting, they always held care with Natsu.
Natsu was snapped out of his trance by an annoying voice shouting "Hey Pyro! Stop flirting with Lucy and fight me!"
Natsu turned his head to find his rival standing on a table in nothing but his dark blue boxers. The fire mage growled and stomped his was over to Gray. Usually the ice mage would wear a dark red shirt with a long white train coat that had blue trimming and some dark blue trousers. But he also had a bad habit of striping, leaving only his boxers and his silver cross chain. If you were lucky."Put on some clothes you perverted popsicle!" Natsu shouted back.
Now usually this is where the red headed mage named Erza would come in and stop the two from fighting. She never came. That was because Master Makarov gave the victors who were on the winning team some of the prize money. He kept most of it for himself though. The poor requip wizard had spent all the money on her celebratory strawberry cakes and ended up with a bad stomach ache from to much sweets and was now on bed rest.
Lucy rolled her eyes, blush still on her cheeks. She walked back over to the bar and sat on the stool upon Natsu's request. Mira giggles at her state. 'He sure knew how to make her take her mind off things'. Lucy noticed how she was acting and asked "What is it, Mira?"
"Oh nothing, it's just I don't understand why you and Natsu don't date already. You two are perfect for each other." My face begins to burn as I burry it in my hands. Mira always had this habit of matching people up, 'shiping' as she liked to call it. The funny thing was that she was never wrong. Neither was she in this case. Lucy did love Natsu, but the thought of loosing him as a friend scared her, so she put her feelings aside. For Natsu's sake.
She finally felt my face cool down and take it out of my hands only to find Mira had turned away from me and was now cleaning my glass that I drank the milkshake from earlier. The blonde sighed once more. 'Why did she always have to say things like that so casually!'
I look around the guild hall when all of a sudden I hear something that I thought could never happen.
The guild was silent.
Master Makarov was standing one the wooden table that Cana, Macao, and Wakaba were sitting at. He walked to the edge of the table, kicking the beer bottle next to his foot and spilling it on the floor making Cana wince. That's when I notice he had the most stern look I have ever seen on his face. Ever.
"Listen up!"
Makarov was a short elderly man with a booming voice. He wore a fancy blue shirt and some black trousers with heavy brown boots. Over that he wore a pure white fur coat with a blue and silver pin. Just like his coat his hair was pure white and the top of his head was completely bald with his mastache the same color as his hair.
"What's with the long face Gramps?" Gray asks. The Master turned his head around the guild, looking at all the faces he cared for so much. He would die for each and everyone of them and did everything he could to keep the safe.
What he was about to do was no different.
"Although I am happy for our victory I'm afraid I have some bad news" he said. His tone was flat but you could see the pain in his face. "Today, I'm afraid one of you will be kicked out of the guild." Everyone's face held mixture of emotions. Thoughts raced through Lucy's head. She couldn't loose her family. 'Why would the Master do this..' she thought.
A bang was heard throughout the guild as everyone looked to see Natsu slammed his hand on a table, snapping it in half. "Why Gramps?" His voice was full of hurt and anger as his bangs covered his eyes. "Why would you do this? No one did anything wrong!" He shouts. A little girl with a green and blue patterned dress walked up to Natsu and put her hand on his shoulder, she had dark blue pigtails and dark coco colored eyes.
"It's alright Natsu, I-i'm sure Master h-has a g-good reason." Wendy would stutter as she tried to hold back the tears that gatherd in the corner of her eyes. When she had come to Fairy Tail for the first time she felt so lucky to have a family like them. They were perfect to her. The thought of loosing any of them made her want to brake, she already lost one family and she never wanted to loose anyone in her family ever again.
"No it's not, Wendy."
Natsu still refused to show his face instead he demanded an explanation. Lucy was shocked by him, never had she heard him speak to the Master like that.
"Natsu pack your things, Mirajane will remove your guild mark when you are ready."
Time seemed to stop at that moment.
The guild halls air had suddenly become thick and hot, making it almost hard to breathe for the others. Natsu lifted his head, his bangs no longer covering his eyes, only to reveal tears in the onyx orbs. The dragon slayer almost never cried.
"W-what?" He stares at the Master in disbelief. "You heard me Natsu" he said softly. "Why? What did I do!" By this point Natsu was screaming and most of the others were still trying to process what was happening. Makarov said nothing, it was killing him on the inside to have to do this to Natsu, but it was for the best. "Please.." Natsu said, sadness and sorrow in his voice. "Please Gramps, Fairy Tail is the only home I've ever known."
The Master did not respond. "Please, I won't cause any more trouble, I'll do whatever you want me to do! Gramps please...don't kick me out."
Again Master Makarov did not flinch and Natsu stood up. He couldn't believe this. It had to be a bad dream. It had to be. He did the only thing he could in that moment.
He ran.
As soon as Lucy heard the guild doors slam shut from the impact of Natsu running she bolted out of her seat as well. "Lu-chan!" She heard her friend Levy call, but she ignored her. There was one thing and one thing only on her mind. Natsu.
As she run up the hill that lead to Natsu and Happy's house she felt the pitter-patter of water droplets against her pale skin. Light rain began to shower down as she made her way to the door of the old hut. She knocked on the door and sighed in relief as she heard rustling on the other side. He was still there, she was afraid he had left already.
"Natsu let me in!" She shouted. No reply. Lucy started to knock on the door slightly harder than she would normally. The blonde only had one goal right now 'get to Natsu.' She stomped her foot and shouted "Natsu, I'm coming in!" Since the hut he lived in was old and falling apart all she needed to do was give the door a good Lucy Kick before it fell on the ground.
As she walked in she found Natsu trying to stuff some clothes in an old and warn out suit case that was on his hammock. "What do you want?" He said.
Lucy ignored his rude greeting and hugged him from behind. Natsu tensed for a second, as much as he wanted to hide from all the pain,the pain of loosing his family, the pain of letting down Gramps. He didn't even know what he did wrong but it still hurt. As much as he wanted to get away from all of it he couldn't help but relax slightly at Lucy's touch.
"Lucy...You do realize I have to leave right?"
Lucy shook slightly at this remark. She wouldn't let him go, she loved him to much. He turned around to face her and pulled her into a hug, as if it would be the last thing he would ever do. Wrapping his arms around her he pushed her head twords his chest as he barried his face in the crook of her neck, sniffing her sent."I'm coming with you."
Natsu didn't know what to say. He pulled away a bit to look at Lucy. Her eyes looked confident and her face showed determination. "No Lucy, I can't let you do that." He said. "And why not, Natsu?"
He shook his head. It was her dream to join Fairy Tail, he couldn't let her throw that away just because he had to leave.
"I'm not letting you go on your own" She said. "We're partners remember?"
He smiled down at the blonde. 'How did he get so lucky as to meet her?' Natsu always had this erge to protect Lucy. To make her feel happy and safe.
With that thought Lucy and Natsu connected lips for a passionate kiss. The sound of rain could be heard in the background. Natsu felt fireworks blow up inside him. He pulled away gently and said with a smile
"Yeah, it's always better when we are together."

So this is the first chapter of my first story so I'm sorry if it was bad or confusing. Please forgive me 😭. All the picture at the top had me laughing so I thought 'Why not?' I'll try and include a meme or something every chapter and write a chapter every other day. Please send feedback.
