"Ladies and gentlemen of the hallway: it's yearbook time! Hi, page forty two." Riley said as she and Farkle passed out yearbooks.
"Hi, pages twenty seven, thirty four, and fifty eight. You're doing too much. You should calm down." Farkle said.
"Yearbooks! Find out who we are and what we really think about each other." Riley said.
"You wanna know what I think about you?" Maya asked as she looked at Lucas.
"No, I do not."
"—but I wanna tell you." Maya said as she got down from the bench.
"I don't think you need to." Lucas said as he shook his head.
"I'm gonna do it anyway." Maya said with a shrug.
"Don't do it."
"It's been a while." Maya said with a nod.
"I'm asking you not to do it."
"I'm gonna do it. You wanna run or you want it straight in the face?" Maya asked.
"I wanna run, but how would that look?" Lucas asked.
"Hahahahahahaha hur."
"You guys wouldn't judge me if I run, right?" Lucas asked before the three nodded.
"Hahahahahahaha hur."
"Come on, man. There's always another option." Lucas said.
"HA HURR!"
"You okay now?" Lucas asked before Maya smiled.
"Mm. That was good." Maya said before she sat down by Amzie.
"You know else is good? Yearbooks. All of our classmates say what they think of us." Riley said as she handed yearbooks to Maya and Amzie.
"Yearbooks. Find out how we'll be remembered. Guess what? You took another nice picture, you freak." Farkle said as he handed a yearbook to Lucas.
"Thanks, Farkle. How will you be remembered?" Lucas asked.
"Did they do it to you again?" Amzie asked as she looked at her boyfriend.
"Most Likely To Be Farkle: Farkle."
"I didn't think I'd win it again this year, but I did." Farkle said.
"What does that mean exactly, Farkle?" Riley asked as she looked at him.
"How should I know? They turned being me into a category." Farkle said with a shrug.
"Hey, Riley won Most Likely To Smile Herself To Death." Maya said.
"Aw. Well, who wouldn't wanna go that way? When the time comes, why you gotta be a Gloomy Gus?" Riley asked with a smile.
"Riles, I don't think they meant this as a good thing." Maya said as Amzie nodded.
"They're making fun of me and they're making fun of you, too." Farkle said as he looked at the brunette.
"What?"
"Would you stop smiling?" Amzie asked.
"I'm not smiling, Z. This is my upset face. This is smiling." Riley said before she made a different face.
"You know what? I don't care what they say." Farkle said.
"Neither do I."
"I don't care what they say at all." Farkle said.
"Neither do I at all. How'd this stuff even get in here? We're the editors." Riley said as she and Farkle looked at the book.
"Wow. We must have very poor quality control." Farkle said.
"What'd you get, Huckleberry?" Amzie asked as she looked at him.
"I got Most Likely To Be Okay With Anything That Ever Happens." Lucas said.
"How do you feel about that?" Amzie asked.
"Well, actually I'm okay with that. Oh!" Lucas realized.
"I'm not all sunshine and rainbows. I have a dark side." Riley said before the girls looked at her.
"Let me see your dark side face." Maya said before Riley made a face.
"Aw!"
"Guys, we're not gonna make a huge deal out of this, are we?" Amzie asked.
"Yeah. Who cares?" Lucas asked with a shrug.
"It's only what everybody thinks of us." Riley said.
"What's more important to you: what you think of yourself or what other people think of you?" Lucas asked.
"What I think of myself." Riley said.
"Yeah!"
"—and what I think of myself is that it really bothers me what other people think of me." Riley said.
"Yeah."
"Well, forget about it. It's not like you can just turn around and be someone new." Lucas said.
"Yeah. This is me now." Farkle said after he pulled his turtleneck off to show a black tshirt and put a black beanie on his head.
"Farkle?"
"Nope. Farkle's gone. You'll never see him again. Babe." Farkle said before he walked into class.
"What the hell?"
"Okay, what have we got here?" Cory asked after he walked in to see Farkle leaning on his desk.
"I'm Donnie Barnes."
"Really, Farkle? Of all the names in the world you could pick for another personality, you pick Donnie Barnes?" Amzie asked with a chuckle.
"You don't get it, do you, babe? I'm Donnie Barnes, Regular Guy." Farkle said.
"I'd see that movie." Cory said with a shrug.
"Donnie Barnes is the real me. Farkle Minkus is my goofy other personality." Farkle said.
"No, you're Farkle. I'll prove it to you. See? How'd you possibly do that?" Lucas asked after he changed the name plate to Farkle, then Farkle changed it to Donnie Barnes.
"I don't wanna be Most Likely To Be Farkle. Face it, Cowboy. There's a new pretty boy in town. Thank you. I am—Donnie Barnes." Farkle said before he sat down.
"Are you gonna do something? Because this is where you do something, right? Are you gonna do something? Is there a lesson? You got a lesson? Is there a lesson?" Lucas asked as he looked at Cory.
"Iceland."
"Iceland! You all fixed? No? I don't think he's all fixed. If that was the girls, you know you'd fix them." Lucas said as he looked at Cory.
"Sit down, Lucas."
"You know I'm right." Lucas said as he went to his seat.
"Iceland and Greenland. What do you think about them, Mr. Barnes?" Cory asked.
"When I look like this, I don't have to think. Right, Lucas?" Farkle asked as he looked at him.
"Dude, I won the Scholar Athlete Award." Lucas reminded him.
"Ooh, nerd alert!" Farkle said, making everyone chuckle.
"Iceland and Greenland? Anybody?" Cory asked.
"Iceland is a land of ice." Maya said with a shrug.
"Wrong."
"Then Greenland is a land of green." Amzie said.
"Wrong."
"Then who cares? Stupid countries don't even know who they are. Stupid countries." Amzie scoffed.
"The vikings discovered this beautiful green country." Cory said.
"I come from vikings." Farkle said before Lucas looked at him.
"You do?"
"You don't know me." Farkle said as he rolled his eyes.
"Okay."
"So the vikings, they didn't want anyone else taking their new country, so they decided to name it Iceland. Everyone figures it must be cold. Nobody wants to go there." Cory said.
"So they made everybody think of it in that way even though it wasn't true?" Riley asked before Cory nodded.
"That's right. Then another viking comes along—Erik the Red—and he discovers a land of snow and ice. He wants everyone to go there instead, so he names that Greenland and everyone goes there. The jerks!" Cory said.
"So you're saying the perception of a thing doesn't make it so?" Riley asked.
"I'm saying people are always gonna say stuff. How you react to what they say is what makes you the person you are." Cory said.
"So don't react?" Riley asked.
"That's right."
"Just keep on smiling?" Riley asked.
"Would you please? Lesson over." Cory said.
"Nothing anybody else says is ever gonna make me feel any different." Riley said.
"Hey, Maya, Lucas. Congratulations on winning favorite couple." Kylie said.
"I feel different."
"How is that possible?" Lucas asked.
"How could anybody ever see me and Lucas as a couple?" Maya asked.
"Everybody does."
"But we're so much alike." Riley said.
"—and they're so different." Darby said.
"But we're like a summer rain." Riley said.
"—and they're like fire." Sarah said.
"Daddy, remember when you told me not to react?" Riley asked before Cory nodded.
"Yes."
"I'm gonna react." Riley said before she put her head on the desk.
"Open up!" Amzie said as she hit the window.
"No."
"What'd she just say?" Amzie asked as she looked at Maya.
"It's okay. Don't overreact." Maya said as she put a hand on her best friend's arm.
"You open this bay window right now!" Amzie yelled as she hit the window again.
"I wish to be alone."
"Ring power!" Amzie said as she held up her and Maya's hands.
"Curses!" Riley said before she opened the window.
"Hey, Riley. Funny question: have you seen everything black I own? Hey. Look at you." Topanga said after she walked in.
"There's no more Riley. My name is Morotia M Black." Riley said.
"What does the M stand for?" Topanga asked.
"Morotia."
"Poor, dark thing you."
"Yeah, she's very depressed." Maya said as Topanga sat down with them.
"Oh? Well, that's too bad. The neighbor's golden retriever just gave birth to six puppies." Topanga said.
"Must fight cute!"
"—but have they met the other neighbor's bunnies yet?" Amzie asked before Topanga nodded.
"They just did. There's a bunny and a puppy nibbling at opposite ends of the same carrot." Topanga said.
"Gah!"
"They're gonna kiss? This is fantastic!" Maya smiled as Amzie nodded.
"That's exactly what the pony said!" Topanga said.
"No! Cut it out!" Riley said as she stood up.
"You snap out of it." Amzie said as she stood up.
"—and do what?—smile myself to death? Riley is gone. Everybody else is right. I'm wasting my life and I'm tired of being chip chip chipper." Riley said.
"You're being ridiculous. Is there anybody more ridiculous than you?" Maya asked.
"Knock knock." Farkle said as he climbed in.
"Who's there?" Amzie asked as she looked at Riley, scared of the answer.
"I'm Donnie Barnes!" Farkle said before Amzie sighed.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really miss my lady." Amzie said as she looked at him.
"That's a catchphrase and Donnie Barnes don't need no stinking catchphrase. You know why? I'm Donnie Barnes. Shplidow!" Farkle said.
"Okay, I'm out." Topanga said before she left.
"Riley, I came over to check on you because I kinda expected this. Donnie Barnes: Regular Guy." Farkle said.
"Morotia M Black. Shplidead inside." Riley said as they shook hands.
"I feel you. What's say you and I play by our own rules?" Farkle asked.
"Shall we sit and ponder on the ridiculous futility of caring?" Riley asked before they sat down.
"Let's do it."
"Stop. Riley, is this about the me and Lucas best couple thing?" Maya asked.
"That doesn't affect me at all." Riley said as she looked away.
"We need Riley back." Amzie said as Maya nodded.
"There is no value to the existence of Riley." Riley said.
"Well, we need Riley back to get Farkle back." Amzie said.
"There is no value to the existence of Farkle, dude." Farkle said as he looked at her.
"Excuse me?"
"I meant babe."
"Who is this guy, who does he think he is, and what did he do with my boyfriend?" Amzie asked as she looked at Maya.
"Guys, we know you're hurt. We know what people say can be upsetting, but neither of us have any interest living in a world without Riley or Farkle." Maya said as they sat down.
"Yeah, and we're not going anywhere until you two come back. You hear me?" Amzie asked as she looked at them.
"Maya, Amzie, the people you knew aren't here anymore." Farkle said.
"Then can you please tell us where we can find them?" Maya asked.
"They're in the yearbook. Keep in touch and have an awesome summer." Riley said.
"Knowing you is so hard." Amzie sighed before she and Maya left.
"Pay no attention to the bunny night light." Riley said after she turned the lights off.
"I'm Donnie Barnes."
"Mom, Amzie and I need your help." Maya said after she and Amzie walked into the bakery.
"I don't think I've ever heard more beautiful words come out of that little face." Katy smiled.
"You're a great actress/waitress, right?" Amzie asked.
"Well, some have said my crowd person number three in Hey Mister, Watch Out For That Car was life changing. Yes. Hey, mister, you should've watched out for that car, yeah!" Katy said.
"I need you to turn me into Riley." Amzie said.
"Does Riley need to say hey, mister—?"
"No."
"No? Is she willing to?" Katy asked.
"Maya and I don't know how to do what she does, alright? She fixes things. We break things." Amzie said as Maya nodded.
"Yeah, we need someone to be her."
"You wanna be Riley Matthews? You gotta get inside her soul." Katy said before Riley and Topanga walked in.
"My soul motel has no vacancy. It's fully occupied by scary jack o lanterns and candy corns." Riley said before Topanga chuckled.
"Aw. Dark Riley is really scraping the bottom of the Halloween barrel, isn't she?" Topanga asked with a chuckle.
"You didn't teach me enough bad things." Riley said.
"I'm so sorry, honey."
"Riley, we need you back to fix Farkle. It's what you do." Maya said as Amzie nodded.
"What if we are fixed? What if this is who we're supposed to be?" Riley asked.
"Ma, you gotta help me out here." Maya said as she looked at Katy.
"Yeah, if she's not gonna be her, I will. Show me how." Amzie said.
"Alright, but before you become another person, understand that you may learn things about them you didn't know before. You may learn a secret even they don't know about themselves." Katy said.
"Riley, this is your last chance or else I become you and know all of your secrets." Amzie said as she looked at the brunette.
"Nonsense. It's impossible to become somebody else." Riley said before Katy walked to her and rolled her sleeves up.
"I love today. Today is even better than yesterday and yesterday was the best day ever! I'd think about tomorrow, but I'm afraid I'd burst into sparkles. There it is. There it is." Katy said as Maya and Amzie smiled and looked at each other.
"If you were better, perhaps I'd gasp." Riley said before Katy looked at Maya and Amzie.
"Stop it." The three said after they flipped their hair.
"Gasp."
"Please be back to normal. Please be back to normal." Lucas said as he walked into class with his eyes covered.
"I'm Donnie Barnes."
"What the—?" Lucas asked after Riley walked in.
"Life is what we do between nothings." Riley said as she sat down.
"Is this a New York thing or what is this?" Lucas asked as Maya and Amzie walked in.
"Probably, but I'm from Philadelphia." Amzie said as she put her hair in a low ponytail.
"Amzie? Maya?"
"There you go." Maya said after she put the brunette wig on Amzie.
"Lollipops and circuses and things that rhyme with that!" Amzie said as she twirled after she got into character.
"No! This is your solution, Amzie?" Lucas asked.
"Watch and learn. Hi." Amzie said before Lucas smiled.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"No!" Lucas said after he realized what was going on.
"Please be back to normal. Please be back to normal." Cory said as he walked into class with his eyes covered.
"What's up, Hambone?" Farkle said as he nodded at Cory, who screamed.
"Don't worry, Daddy. I'm gonna fix everybody right up." Amzie said before Cory screamed again.
"Alright, you know what? It's Lucas time. You're the best Farkle we got and everyone knows it. You are a complete ray of sunshine and you are not. That's who we are. I don't know what this is, but I do know that if you let someone say who you are, then you really won't be who you are and you certainly won't end up being who you were meant to be." Lucas said as he looked at Farkle, Riley, and Amzie.
"If you end this with Iceland or Greenland, I'll give you an A on the report right now because you and Maya are the only ones in here I recognize and I know she isn't gonna do it." Cory said as he looked at Lucas.
"Don't worry. I'm not gonna stay Riley. I know how much everybody would miss me if I did." Amzie said.
"No, no. Stay Riley."
"Yeah, you're a good Riley." Darby said.
"Wait. You like us all like this?" Amzie asked as she looked at them.
"We like Riley. We don't care who plays her." Kylie shrugged.
"What about Amzie?"
"Nothing we do matters."
"Amzie, other than Maya, you're the most secure person in this room. You have a great life. Why would you change? Okay, not great life. Your family life could be better, but at least at school, you're here a lot. Right? Little help please." Lucas said as he looked at Maya, who shrugged.
"You dug yourself into the hole. Get yourself out."
"Donnie Barnes?" Lucas asked as he looked at Farkle.
"I think people should be the best person they can be." Farkle said.
"I agree. Riley Matthews is the best person I can be. Amzie's gone and you're never gonna see her again. World peace!—and bunnies!" Amzie smiled as she looked at her book.
"I'm about to shplidow your insides!" Maya said before Lucas sat her down.
"Okay, do Cory. He has to choose between me and Shawn. Go." Topanga said.
"Shawn. I wonder how Amzie's doing as Riley." Katy said.
"I hope everything's going okay. Coming to terms with your identity can be so difficult at their age." Topanga said.
"Well, I went through it. I'm sure you and Cory went through it." Katy said.
"Yeah, I was weird. Cory was celery." Topanga said before they both chuckled.
"Something will change because of this. When you become someone else—even though you're just acting—it's impossible not to discover something you didn't know before." Katy said.
"Do you ever do Maya?" Topanga asked.
"I can't. When you have strong emotions for someone, it's like you're too close to see straight." Katy said.
"Do Shawn."
"Hey, I'm Shawn. That wasn't good." Katy chuckled awkwardly as she looked down.
"You having some issues there, Katy?" Topanga asked with a chuckle.
"You set me up. Huh." Katy said as she looked at her mug.
"Alright. You all say I'm Most Likely To Be Okay With Anything. Well, I'm not okay with any of this. I'm not okay with all you guys not realizing that what you say about people matters and I'm not okay with you guys thinking what people say about you matters." Lucas said before he sat down.
"You know what happened after everybody went to Greenland because someone told them to? Donnie?" Cory asked as he looked at Farkle.
"Riley?"
"Black Swan?"
"They all died."
"Yep."
"What? Really?"
"Really. They came to an inhospitable, uninhabited ice ball named Greenland because someone said it was pretty and the first thing they did was die. The jerks! So please remember that you shouldn't pay attention to what everybody says because if you listen to everybody else, you just might end up crashing your little ships onto the rocks." Cory said.
"—but you should listen to the people who care about you because they have your best interest at heart. Right, buddy? You're much more than just a regular guy." Lucas said as he looked at Farkle.
"Aw, Lucas. You're a very sweet guy. That's why I always liked you since I fell into your lap on the subway. It's why we should've been favorite couple because we're so much alike. It's like we're two sunshiney people from the same sunshiney family. That's why I like you so much. It's like you're my brother. Oh. It's like he's your—" Amzie started as she looked at Riley.
"What?"
"Whoa."
"What just happened?" Riley asked before Amzie took the wig off.
"Nothing. Nothing happened. I don't wanna be Riley anymore. Only you're Riley. I'm Amzie. We don't care what you say. We're not crashing our ships. Come back. Farkle, baby, come back. Come back right now." Amzie said as she looked at Farkle and Riley.
"Wow. There's a lot of light in this world." Riley said as Amzie and Maya opened the curtains.
"If you let it in, yeah." Amzie said with a chuckle.
"You know who taught us that?" Maya asked as she sat down.
"Me."
"The real you, yeah." Maya said as Amzie sat down.
"We need you back, Riley. If you wanna listen to what people say, listen to the right people. Listen to us. We're Maya and Amzie." Amzie said as Maya nodded.
"Maya. Amzie."
"Hi, honey."
"Amzie."
"Yeah, sunshine?"
"Katy told you that you might find out a secret about me. Did you find anything out about me that maybe you should tell me?" Riley asked.
"No."
"Did the bunny and the puppy really kiss?" Riley asked before the blondes laughed.
"Absolutely, Riley. They did." Maya chuckled.
"—but I know that the pony didn't actually talk." Riley said before Maya and Amzie looked at each other.
"We can't keep anything from you." Amzie said.
"That's because I'm a smarty pants." Riley smiled.
"Yes, you are."
"Can you please fix everything now?" Amzie asked before Riley laid her head on the older girl's shoulder.
"There it is."
"Yeah, we know who we are." Riley said after the girls walked into the bakery.
"You know who you are. You're Farkle and it's a state of being. There's only one and everybody who cares about you knows that. You're in your own category, Farkle." Amzie said before Farkle scooted over for her to sit down.
"I'm glad you're back to normal. I love you any way you are." Farkle said, holding her hand before he leaned over and kissed her.
"So you're gonna come back, too?" Lucas asked.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because people change, Lucas. I think you know that better than anyone and I think it could be a good thing." Farkle said.
"What?"
"You don't have to call me Donnie Barnes. I made that up. My name is Farkle Minkus. I'm growing up. I don't know what's gonna happen next, but you guys are my best friends, so deal with it." Farkle said before he walked outside.
"I got it. Okay, Farkle. Who are you? I wanna know the new rules." Amzie said after she sat at his table.
"I'm finding out who I am." Farkle said.
"You know who you are. You have your own category named after you." Amzie said.
"What's a Farkle anyway?"
"A Farkle is a loyal, loving, best possible friend and boyfriend that there could be. I think everyone should have one, but they don't and I do. I never want him to go away." Amzie said.
"A Farkle is a nerdy, little scientist genius."
"You say that like it's a bad thing." Amzie said with a soft chuckle.
"Is it?"
"No, not to me and not to the people who truly care about you." Amzie said after she reached over and held his hand.
"So it's okay if I stay the scientist that I am?" Farkle asked before Amzie nodded.
"Yes."
"You'll allow me to run some tests?" Farkle asked.
"What kind?" Amzie asked in a way that made Farkle chuckle.
"In order for a living organism to thrive, it needs to be allowed to grow." Farkle said.
"I hear you." Amzie said as she leaned back.
"I may not wear my turtlenecks every day." Farkle said as he leaned back.
"I'll miss them. You still wanna take over the world?" Amzie asked.
"I wanna take over myself first, but yeah. Then the world." Farkle said before they chuckled.
"Well, I'm right here next to you." Amzie said before Farkle smiled.
"Thanks. I never want that to change." Farkle said before Amzie smiled.
"Sign my yearbook?"
"Of course."
