It's Saturday night, and you're at home while your boyfriend is out with his friends.
You are watching a movie when the doorbell rings.
You get up and make your way to the door.
When you open it, there are police officers standing there.
All of them have sad expressions on their faces.
You suspect bad things.
"Are you Y/N L/N? You nod,
"We are very sorry to inform you that your mother has passed away."
"W-what?!"
"We found her in her house, laying dead in her own blood. We figured out who did it."
You need a moment to process what he just said.
"W-who?" You asked.
"We're guessing he's your father."
Your heart gets heavier, and a lump forms in your throat.
"We're very sorry," the officer says.
You just manage to say goodbye and close the door until you collapse.
Your father was the worst, you left when you turned 18, and your mother stayed with him.
After all the things he did to you two, she still loved him and stayed with him.
That was the worst mistake she could've made.
Tears stream down your cheek like a waterfall.
Your mother was your only remaining family member.
Since you never considered your dad a father figure to you,
Your mother always took good care of you; she was the best mother to you, and now she has died.
Everything feels so unreal.

He's always beside you when you cry.
You call him while sobbing uncontrollably.
After the fourth ring, he answers, but it's very loud in the background.
"Hello?"
"M-Mark, can you please come home? I need you here." You say it a little choppily.
"What?"
You say it again, but just before you are done talking, he just hangs up on you.
That makes you cry harder.
He's having fun at a party, and you're crying your heart out.
You don't know what to do.
You go to your bedroom.
You go under your blanket and hug a pillow.
After a few minutes, you heard the door open.
"Y/N?! Y/N Baby, where are you?
You heard a voice cry.
You stayed quiet, then your bedroom door swung open.
You saw Mark with a worried expression.
"Y/N," he says, "Mark! You cried as he opened his arms, wrapping his arms around out.
"Why are you crying? He asked, patting your head. "My mom," you simply say. "What about your mom? He asks.
You tell everything to Mark as he wipes your tears every time tears fall down your eyes.
"I'm so sorry, baby," he says, kissing your forehead and still hugging you.
"I need you."
