"𝕳ow could something so beautiful, treat me so awfully to the point I hate it?" I voiced through the dark night.
"I don't know, love. But every time I see the moon, it reminds me of you shining beautifully in the sky" James murmured back to me, as the two of us laid in the middle of the quidditch field, gazing up to the sky.
The bright stars shone, filling the darkness with light, beside the crescent moon. The only noise being the owls hooting and our soft voices when we spoke to each other. He managed to get the keys off Minnie for the quidditch pitch, bringing me along with him and a blanket for us to lay down on. I was snuggled into his side, my head resting on his arm, mine placed on his chest. It had been a few days since we announced our sort of relationship to everyone, including Lily. She hadn't spoken any words to me as of yet, i'm not sure if it was out of spite or guilt but the boys wouldn't allow me to speak to her unless she apologised to me. I personally didn't really mind, she was my friend- I understand she was upset and said things that she didn't mean, I'd already forgiven her.
"It's like we're all a part of the sky, Rem and I are the halves of the moon, Siri is the glowing stars, Peter is the fluffy clouds..."
"And me?"
"You're the sun" I finished, "Everyone likes the sun, it's makes them feel warm and happy"
"I like the moon" He whispered, moving his free hand to his pocket, pulling something out to show it to me.
"I threw that away" I mumbled, observing the ring I transfigured in Minnie's lesson a while ago, the gold dainty one with the moon and the stars on.
"And I got it back out as soon as you put it in" He replied, sliding the ring on to his finger, a perfect fit. I couldn't help the small smile etching its way on to my lips, he kept the ring all this time and if fit him perfectly. "I carry it around with me so it's with me at all times"
"You're adorable"
"I'm handsome, Elody. I'm the hottest boy you've ever set your eyes on" He declared, as I lifted my head, gazing into his stunning hazel eyes. The way the moonlight reflected on them only enhanced their beauty.
"Maybe you are, maybe you're not. Personally, I think Siri is more-"
"Padfoot?! You think Padfoot is more attractive than me?!" He exclaimed, to which I laughed lightly, the corners of his lips tugging upwards.
"I like the sun" I told him honestly, leaning down and capturing his lips into a kiss. I felt him smile into it, humming as we pulled away. He was the sun, the ray of light livening up people's lives, the thing people look forward to having to soak up all of its energy.
"So does this class as our first date?" He queried as I rested my head back down, nuzzling it into the side of his neck.
"Depends. Will there be more?"
"Many more"
"Then yeah, it does. We can take all of the time we can get alone" I answered, his hand finding mine sending electricity coursing through my veins.
Silence consumed us again, the two of us watching the stars glitter until something crossed my mind again.
"James?"
"Mhm"
I raised my head out of his neck again to scan over his face, his eyebrows knitted together questioningly. I bit my lip, thinking of how to word my thoughts, "D-did you like me before you kissed me?" I asked quietly, watching him swallow thickly, before slowly nodding his head.
"A couple of weeks before we kissed, yeah, I think so. I was confused, Lunes, I liked Lily for so long when I started realising my feeling for you, I didn't understand, you are my best friend" He confessed, staring deeply into my eyes. How does he know he doesn't want to be with Lily? These feelings are new for us- he's loved her for years. "I know what you're thinking. Don't believe that for one moment, Elody. It's you, it's always going to be you"
"What if the feelings go away?" I questioned vulnerably. I was used to people leaving with my lycanthropy, I couldn't be loved. What if he realises that and he changes his mind?
"I'm pretty confident they won't, love. Like one hundred and ten percent sure" He reassured me, I could see the hints of genuine and sincerity in his eyes.
"You can't have one hundred and ten percent, a percent means out of a hundred" I recalled, viewing a smile gracing his lips.
"Doesn't that just prove it then?"
"I guess so"
"You guess so? No, no that's not good enough, love. Do I need to prove it more to you?"
"How can you-" He cut me off, grabbing my chin gently but forcefully, connecting our lips together again. A roaring pit of fire exploded in my stomach when he swiped his tongue over my bottom lip, pushing it into my mouth. I was taken a back by his sudden movement, nevertheless allowed his tongue to explore inside, locking with mine. It felt endearing, yearning.
He pulled away, the both of us needing some air, leaving me completely breathless and astounded. I've never kissed anyone like that before, that was a whole other level. I dropped my forehead down on his, feeling the need to be close to him.
"Did you enjoy that as much as I did?" He mumbled, his hot breath fanning over my face.
"Yeah" I mumbled back to him before he pressed his perfect lips to mine again, savouring the moment between us. I retreated my forehead off his a few minutes later, and nestled it back into his neck again, him staring up at the stars and moon again, "I think Wednesday is my new favourite day of the week"
He chuckled, allowing me to feel the vibrations in his voice box, "You're favourite day of the week is Friday, it always has been"
"Because they are just so much better than the other days. You have the weekend to look forward to, it's just the best"
"Saturdays are better" He argued, "You're actually in the weekend then, and it's in the middle between Sunday"
"I hate Sundays"
"I know you do, you just don't want it to be Monday again. That's why you love Friday, it's far away from Monday" He remembered, my heart fluttering from his words. He knew me inside and out, I guess that's the benefit of already being best friends before hand.
"Fucking hell, Regulus" I said, finally realising what he meant. Laurie thought he loved Jo all those years whilst she rejected him, and he realised he loved Amy. He was Laurie and I was Amy. It wasn't because of our characteristics, it was because of the story line. He knew all along.
"No, i'm James" He commented in an obvious tone, perplexed. I laughed gently, squeezing his hand.
"No, it was just something Regulus said that I just pieced together"
"Why are you thinking about Regulus Black when you're with me?"
"Don't be jealous, we're just friends, well don't tell him that"
"May I remind you that we were just friends" He recalled, moving his hand to my back and trailing his fingers up and down delicately, making me shiver from his touch.
"We're different" I whispered, brushing my lips over the skin of his neck. We were always different, I have a soft spot for James, he was my best friend but Sirius and Peter were like my brothers, he wasn't. There was something more with him.
"Hm, yes we are" He whispered back, moving his head slightly and kissing the top of my head, "You getting tired? You want to go back?"
"Up to you"
"Come on, we should head back. We have classes in the morning" He decided, sitting up and lifting me up with him. He folded up the blanket, holding it under his arm, the other hand finding mine, interlocking our fingers together.

"Did you do the charms homework?" I queried, the two of us walking through the empty castle together, avoiding Filch by using the match. He laughed, shaking his head,
"Lunes you know I haven't"
"It's a good job that I wrote an extra one then, isn't it?"
"Very" He responded, a goofy grin on his face when he pecked my temple, "Thank you"
"Mhm"
"Oh! They're back!" Peter announced, the group all gathered in the common room waiting for us. Creeps. Everyone snapped their eyes towards us, raising their eyebrows questioningly.
"So?"
"So what?" We spoke in unison, walking further into the common room, the only seat left was a single chair. He pulled me on to his lap, wrapping his arms around my middle as I leaned back into his chest.
"How did it go?" Sirius questioned, wriggling his eyebrows at the two of us. Oh.
"Awful, yeah never doing that again" I voiced, their eyebrows furrowing and tilting their heads to the side.
James caught on to my wavelength, nodding his head in agreement, "The worst date of my entire life"
"Are you serious?"
"No, I am. That's Prongs and Luna" Sirius claimed, everyone groaning and rubbing their foreheads from the very old and irritating joke.
There was a noise coming from the dorms, someone entering the common room at this late hour. We all eyed the entrance as Lily walked in, pausing, scanning over the group of before landing on James and I. She opened her mouth to say something before closing it and walking back up to the dorm. I began to move only stopped by the group.
"No, don't you dare. She needs to apologise first"
"But she's my friend, if I just talked to her-"
"After she apologises" Sirius cut me off, sending me a pointed look. I sighed, shifting my gaze on to Alice, pleading her with my eyes. She hesitantly nodded, standing up and following her up to the dorms to speak to her. She shouldn't have to be on her own, she needed someone to talk to, someone that wasn't Snape.
"She'll apologise soon, I promise" Mary voiced, noticing my expression. I hated this, I wanted everything to go back to normal again, I wanted to be speaking to my friend again, "I'm going to go up"
"Yeah" Marlene nodded, standing up and beginning to walk away before she turned to us, "Don't hurt her Potter or i'll kill you"
"After me"
"After me"
"After me"
"Padfoot! You're supposed to be my brother!" He exclaimed, sending him a look of disbelief.
"Prongs, I love you but M's our girl. We will kill you and have no regrets" Sirius returned, making me laugh at the group of them. They were the best friends, they were family.
"It wasn't actually awful, was it?" Peter asked, his eyebrows still knitted together.
"You do realise that we know you watched us for most of it until Rem dragged you away, right?" I commented, the boys jaws dropping and James laughing. We knew they were there, we just ignored them, knowing my brother would take everyone away, not wanting to watch us.
"We would never do such a thing" Sirius scoffed accusingly, folding his arms over his chest.
"We know, Pads, it must have been someone else's hair that looked breath taking in the moonlight" James put in.
"I know right! The moon illuminates it so well" He chirped, flipping his hair over his shoulder. He fell right into our trap, Peter and Remus nudging him before he realised grumbling some words under his breath. We laughed at them again, knowing this was already going to happen. You date one Marauder, you date all of them, luckily we both didn't mind.
