Chapter 83
I wake up the next morning and groan. Noah's right next to me. I stretch my arms, but realize that his body is draped over mine. I shift around to face him, and slowly moves. Shit. Did I wake him up?
"Morning, love." He says, low and gruffly. My heart fluttered.
"Morning, baby. Did you sleep well?" I lie back down on the pillow next to him, and turn to face him.
"I always sleep well next to you." His eyes slowly open.
"What time is it?" He asks. I glance at my phone.
"Six am."
"Fucckkk. I wanna sleep." He groans into the pillow.
"You go ahead and sleep, I'm going to brush my teeth." I tell him, getting out of bed.
"No, wait. I'll join you." He gets out of bed, and stretches. The muscles in his back ripple as he climbs out of bed, and his stomach is so defined. He has a bit of stubble growing on his face again. How the hell is he so hot?
"Like what you see, love?" He smirks. My face goes red. It's too early in the morning for this.
"Just come on. We have to go across the hall because of the... bed situation." I blush again. He chuckles.
"Come on then." We creep into the hall, peering into the girls' bedroom. They're fast asleep. I think they were up until two or something giggling and laughing, but we went to bed before that. We finally get to our room, and slip into the bathroom, quickly brushing our teeth. I turn around to go and sit on the bed, but....
"We screwed up big time."
"YEs we did." Noah says, his arms going around my waist and my head tucked into his chin. I fit perfectly, like, like it was.. Never mind.
I escaped his arms and went to get my clothes and go for a shower.
"Love?" he murmurs, nuzzling my neck, trapping me in his embrace once more.
"Yes, Noah?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to hear your voice." I blush.
"You're very sweet, Noah. I like hearing your voice too." His finger tugs down the neckline of my shirt, and he traces his fingers across my shoulder. His lips suck on the exposed skin.
"Noah?"
"Yes, love?"
"What are you doing?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." His finger traces my spine, and my back curves into him, a shivery feeling taking over my body.
His phone rings, breaking us out of the moment.
"Are you going to get that?"
"No."
"Noah."
"Naya."
"Pick up your phone, Noah." I tell him, holding his hand. I press a kiss to his knuckles.
"I hate you." He grumbles, picking up his phone.
"Yeah, yeah yeah." He just sits down on the floor, and pulls me into his lap. I rest my head on his shoulder.
"What the fuck? I'm- I'm coming. Don't worry." His face completely dropped.
"Noah? What's going on?"
"My mom is in the hospital."
"Oh my god. Is she okay?"
"I don't know. Everest is there with my father right now. I- I have to go." He stands up abruptly.
"I h-haven't' even talked to her because I was pissed out of my mind. Now she's in the hospital, and I have no clue what to do. Everst is- is stuck there, and I can't do a single fucking thing because I feel like my father has got my hands still tied behind my fucking back!" His volume increases. His eyes become glassy.
"Hey, Noah. Take a deep breath. Your mom is in the hospital. She's going to be okay. If you need me to come I will, but you need to be calm, and remain strong for your mom and brother, okay?"
"You don't have to-"
"If you need me, I'll be there. I have to drop Lily home, and I'll be at the hospital today, alright? Go take care of your mom."
"Naya-"
"Go Noah. Go be with them."
"Thank you, I love you."
"Why are you thanking me? You need to be there for them. I love you too." I give him a quick kiss, and he rushes out of the house as soon as possible. As he gets ready, i go into the girl's room. Lily's awake and on her phone, and Fiona's passed out.
"Morning girls."
"Fiona's still sleeping, Also hi." Lily greets.
"I hate to cut this short, but we have a family emergency, Lily, I need to drop you home as soon as possible. I've texted your mom, and she's on her way to pick you up right now."
"Oh, um, okay, Is everything okay?"
"No, I have to get her up and we have to go to the hospital." She nods her head, and I go out of the room, leaving her to wake up Fiona. Oh god. I hope it's nothing serious. I alk out of the eroom, rushing down the stairs to see him before he leaves.
"Noah. Noah. Noah, wait." I ran after him.
"What, Shanaya?" he asks irritatedly.
"It's going to be okay."
"And how the hell do you know that?"
"Because I know these things. Your mom is going to be fine." I firmly say, ignoring the harsh slaps of his words.
"Yeah, its fucking amazing." He sarcastically mutters
"Hey, don't take this out on me. I'm here to support you and help you. I'll meet you in a few hours."
"You shouldn't bother coming." That stung.
"Well suck it up jerk, cause I'm going to be there for you. I don;t really care if you want it or not." He glares at me, then slams the door behind him. He's a true dumbass sometimes. Because he doesn't know how to deal with his feelings, he pushes people away. I hate it. I huff in frustration, running my hands through my messy hair.
A few minutes later, I hear a short ding at the doorbell. I open it to find Marilynne.
"Hey, Mary, thank you so much for picking her up."
"No worries at all Shanaya. Please let me know if you need anything."
"Thank you, so much." She hugs me.
"It's going to be okay."
"I know. I know it will." Within another couple of minutes, Lily is packed up and ready to go.
"Bye Naya, thanks for having me over!"
"Anytime Lily. I'm sorry this had to be cut so short."
"Are you serious? I had a great time. Bye Fi, love you!" Lily blows her an air kiss. Fiona pretends to catch it, but yawns, leaning against the counter.
"I see Fiona's still half asleep." She nods her head, a sleepy smile on her face. I chuckle.
"Anyways, thank you Marilynne."
"Of course. And you call me anytime you need it, okay? I mean it."
"Thank you." She gives me a soft smile, and before i know it, they're gone.
"Mom? What's going on?" Fiona stretches her arms.
"Noah's mom is in the hospital. I have to go, but you can stay here, there's some brea-"
"Mom, I wanna come."
"Fiona, I don't think-"
"He's my dad. I'm coming." She says fimly.
"Fine. But if he is irritated and says something, don't feel bad. He's going through a difficult situation. He doesn't mean any of it. Whatever harsh things-"
"He's not going to. I understand. Let's go. Come on." She makes me go upstairs, and pushes me to my door, and leaves me there. Time to face the music.
shit. Guys this chapter is so sad. The next one is going to make u even more sad. She won't die, or will she...

anyways, today was my first day back at school! honestly so happy to be back because i was bored out of my mind
i'm going to try to keep the updates as frequent as I can, hopefully at least once a week.
also, i procrastinated all of my summer work.
and i'm in honors and AP classes.
FUN. I have to finish an essay by midnight today.
