Chapter 40
I feel someone shaking me awake. I saw their hands away.
"Leave me aloneeeee," I wail.
"Naya, wake up, we're going to land in Tokyo airport." I sit up immediately.
"We're going to land?? YAY!!! I can't believe we're here!!" I excitedly squeal. I crush him in a hug.
"Thank you so much for bringing me here!!" I think he was a little surprised, but he wraps his arms around me too.
"Anything for you, Naya." I blush.
I quickly fasten my seatbelt, and before I know it, we are walking into the airport. I look around in awe. I've always wanted to come here. It's such a beautiful country.
We go through the passport check and we are greeted by Japanese people.
(A/N I don't actually know Japanese, I'm using google translate, pls comment if it's wrong grammar/vocab or smth pls, I don't wanna offend anyone, and I think its such a cool language!)
"Konichiwa madam to sa,"
Translation: Hello, Ma'am and Sir
"Konichiwa," I greet them.
"You know Japanese?"
"Yep! I took an online course in high school." I explain. He nods his head in understanding.
"Nihongo no madamu o hanashimasu ka?" They ask.
Translation: do you speak Japanese ma'am?
"Sukoshidesuga amari yoku arimasen" I reply.
Translation: a little bit, but not very well.
Noah looks completely lost. They switch to english.
"Welcome to Tokyo! I hope you enjoy your stay in our beautiful country!" They say, their thick accents highly evident, and they wave goodbye to us. We walk outside to get a cab.
"I didn't know you knew Japanese," He says, looking surprised.
"Yeah, I did, haha." I say, a little embarrassed.
"Can you speak any other languages?"
"Hindi, Spanish, Telegu, and a little bit of Kannada," I tell him.
"Wow, that's very impressive!" He compliments.
"Haha, thank you. What about you? Do you speak any languages?"
"I took Spanish in High school, but i know a bit of mandarin as well,"
"Wow, that's so cool!"
"It's not a big deal, haha."
"Mandarin is such a cool language!" I gush.
"It's pretty hard, but it is a nice language." He tells me. A cab pulls over. An elderly man is driving the car. We put our bags in the trunk and climbed inside.
"Konnichiwa, watashinonamaeha itoshigo desu, Tōkyō e yōkoso" He greets us.
Translation: Hello! My name is Aiko, welcome to Tokyo!
"Kon'nichiwa Aiko! Watashi wa shanayadesu. Kore wa noadesu. Amerika kara hōmon shite imasu." I reply to him.
Translation: Hello Aiko! I am Shanaya, and this is Noah. We are visiting from America.
Aiko greets Noah. I snicker at Noah's confused expression.
"Shazai Aiko, noa wa nihongo ga hanasenai tte iu no o wasureta," I tell Aiko.
Translation: sorry Aiko, I forgot to tell you Noah doesn't know Japanese.
"Haha, that's alright! Hello! My name is Aiko! Welcome to Tokyo! Where shall I drive you today?" Aiko asks, a kind smile on his face.
"The Himawari Hotel, please," Noah says, and Aiko drives us.
"How was your flight here?" Aiko asks.
"It was so wonderful! I've been wanting to visit your country for so many years! It is so beautiful," I compliment him.
"We are glad to have you in our country then, Shanaya-san," Aiko says. I grin.
"Thank you Aiko!"
Aiko and I chat on the way to the hotel. We wave goodbye to Aiko, grab our suitcases, and walk inside. Wow, it's beautiful here. Lovely flowers decorated the sides of the hotel, and there were mini waterfalls inside it as well. Noah received a call on his phone.
"Naya, I'll be back in a sec, do you mind checking us in?" He asks.
I give him a thumbs up and walk to the front desk.
"Konichiwa! Welcome to the Himawari Hotel, how may I assist you today?" The lady asks.
"Hello, I'm looking for two rooms under the name Noah Williamson?" I ask her.
"I can't find two rooms, but there is one room listed under the name Noah Williamson, it is a master suite?" She replies to me. This is probably a mistake.
"Are you sure? There must be-" Noah walks in and cuts me off.
"I'm sorry ma'am, I think my girlfriend must have gotten a little confused. There is just one room, remember babe?" I raise my eyebrow, and give him a look, but choose not to argue about this in public.
"I'm so sorry, I must have remembered wrong, thank you for all your help!" She passes me the keycards to the room and heads into the elevator. The elevator is all glass, but has a gold covered rim around it, making it look almost ethereal. This place looks freaking amazing!
"Noah, really? One room?" I ask him, as the elevator slowly moves up.
"Why not? Not like we haven't slept in the same bed before?" I can't argue. I change the topic.
"So I'm your girlfriend now, huh?" I tease him a little bit. His face goes completely red, and he stammers.
"Well.. uh... em.."
"It's okay, I was just teasing," I tell him with a smile, feeling a little bit hurt though. I thought maybe we would have put a label to whatever this is by now, but apparently not. I brush it off, not wanting to make a big deal out of it.
We walk to the room, and I unlock the door. Oh. My. DUCKING. GOD. This room is AMAZING.
It was absolutely beautiful.
"Noah, This place is so amazing!" I breathe. Outside of the window, there was a deck and an incredible view of the Tokyo skyline.
"I know, right?" He replies. I can feel his heavy stare. I look up at him.
"So, how long are we staying?" I ask him.
"2 weeks."
"That's perfect! Exactly my entire vacation from school!"
"I know. That's why I planned it this week." Oh. OH. My face reddened. I checked the time, it was about 5 am. I decided to unpack some of my things. As soon as I opened the suitcase, I found the watch and t-shirts for him. I looked around, trying to make sure he hadn't seen anything. Phew, he was in the bathroom. I waited on the couch for him to come out of the bathroom. I hear the door click, and Noah comes out of the bathroom. He is shirtless, and his wet hair is dripping water all over. I can tear my eyes away from his body, his muscles moving with every step he took. My face was probably as red as a tomato. He put his shirt on and came towards me.
"See something you like, sweetheart?" He asks, his face an inch from mine.
"No, not really," I reply smirking. I move in closer as if I'm about to kiss him, but grab my clothes and run to the bathroom.
"You're a damn tease Shanaya!" I just laugh in response.
I Come out of the shower, my hair dripping and wrap it up in a towel.
I'm currently wearing sweatpants and an oversized sweater. I plop down on the bed next to im.
"So, where do you have to go for work today?" I ask him.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I give him a confused look.
"Ohhh, that was just to make you come with me.I I'm here on vacation with you." My eyes widen.
"What?? Really?!? Yay! This is going to be such an amazing trip! Thank you so much Noah!!!" I squeal and squish him and hug him.
"Of course! I thought it would be a fun break for the both of us." I smile against his chest.
I turn around and settle my back against his chest, and sit in between my legs. I open my phone to text Anvi and Nyra.
Me: Hiiiiiii! Reached japan abt 2 hrs ago, currently in the hotel :)
*sends a pic of me and Noah*
Sugarmomma: thats great! How was your flight?
Avocado: That's wonderful!
Me: It was so good! I slept most of the time though, 13 hrs is a long time to travel
Avocado: i bet! Well, we won't keep u away from ur hot bf, so have fun in Japan and send pics!
Sugarmomma: bitch, you better send us pics

Noah pulls the covers up on us, and rests his head on my shoulder.
"Whatcha doing?"
"Texting Anvi and Nyra." A new notification pops up on my phone. I open it up.
Dear Ms. Anand,
We are pleased to inform you that your application has been successfully submitted, and approved. The adoption process will begin in 4 weeks, and attached below are the following documents in order to begin preparation for this child. Thank you for your cooperation.
New York Centers for Adoption(NYCA)
I scream in excitement. Oh MY GOD!! I can't believe it went through! I'm going to be a mom! Oh my god!!!!!
"Shanaya? Are you okay?" Tears are threatening to spill out of my eyes, I'm so full of happiness. I need to call Fiona, but I need to explain this to Noah first.I take a deep breath.
"I met this girl, Fiona a couple of months ago, back in december. She was struggling a bit, and I offered to help her out of her situation. She moved in with me for a day, and then we had to move her to a children's home. After that, I filed for adoption, and now here I am." I tell him.
"I'm so proud of you Shanaya, you're going to be such an amazing mother."
"Thank you so much Noah!" I hugged him again. He holds me for a while.
"I like your hugs a lot," I told him.
"I like having you in my arms." He replies back. My face is red. Jeez, how many times a day am I going to blush??
I suddenly remembered that I had to call Fiona. I checked the time, it's about 7:30 am here, so it must be around 6:30 pm back at home. I facetime her.
"Hey Naya! What's up?"
"Hey Fiona!! I have some really exciting news to tell you,"
"OMG Spill! Wait are you and that dude together, finally-"
"Well, yes, but-"
"OMG I KNEW IT!!" SHe does a little happy dance. I laugh, and look at Noah.
"He's here too, wanna say hi?" I tilt the phone up to his face.
"Hey, I'm Noah, it's nice to meet you!"
"OH MY GOD You're so hot!" Noah snickers.
"NAYA YOU TOTALLY SCORED!" She squeals. I'm completely dying of laughter and embarrassment by now.
"Anyways, the news is, THE ADOPTION PAPERS WENT THROUGH!! I'll be your legal guardian in a few months!!!" I gush. Her entire face brightens, and tears roll down her face.
"Oh My gosh, Naya, thank you so much!!! I wish I could hug you right now! Wait, do you wanna come over?"
"I wish I could hug you too, Fiona, But I'm currently in Japan, Noah took me on a surprise trip, so I'll be back after February break," I told her, missing her a lot.
"It's all good! Lily's here with me! Hey, Lil, wanna say hi?" Lily shoves Fiona out of the way, causing her to pout, and smack her on the arm.
"Hey Naya!! What's up??"
"Hey Lily! Nothing much, but my adoption papers went through, so Fiona will be able to actually be adopted by me!" I tell her, excitedly.
"I knew it!! I told you it would go through Fiona!!" I grin as big as I possibly can. I hear a voice on the other side of the phone.
"Shoot, Naya, we have to go for dinner, can we call you back later?"
"Of course you guys! I'll see you soon!"
"Bye Noah!" Fiona screams. Noah laughs and waves back at her, just as enthusiastically. My heart warms at the sight of them. I hang up the phone with them and lie back down on Noah.
"You're a good pillow."
"I' not a fucking pillow."
"You do know the only reason I like you is because you're a pillow, right?"
"I don't like you."
"Yeah, right, you love me." I suddenly realized what I said.
"Oh-uhm, -ah.. I didn't,"
"It's okay Naya, I know what you meant." My heart drops a little. Does he love me though?
