I feel it slowly breaking
Slowly burning me from the inside out
Burning like liquid fire in my veins
Turning my skin into ash
My fingers, cold contradictions
Were like icicles against my knees
It hurt
It hurt a lot
My teeth gnawing at my chapped lips
My eyes shut so tight that the tears were trapped
I gasped for air of any kind of release
But it made me choke even more
My lungs getting smaller by the second
My fingernails digging deeper and deeper into my flesh
If only
If only they let me be
If only the left me alone with my insanity
