*/*Author's note: This will be my last chapter on this poetry book ending it saddens me, but I just might make a volume two sometime in the near future. I want to thank everyone who has read and even shared my poetry and I hope you all have enjoyed my seemly endless writings on various, sometimes even controversial and compelling topics. I am ending with this chapter, sadly, but on a good note, I have been in contact with a publisher who is very interested in my work and also a fellow photographer interested in my pictures. So may be one day if I can find enough time to finalize my manuscript and send it to them or have the photographer look over my photos that I just might get published or even have my own show!! I have my fingers crossed, and once again thank you for ya'lls support. I hope to be hearing from some of you soon. :) */*
You approached me
And asked me a question
And pulled down your long sleeve
I'd soon never forget
You asked to see mine
Since you bared me yours
A memory that withstands time
Bravely I spoke never, of course
You got angry and bared your teeth
Snarled your lips and cursed to the wind
You couldn't do it, you questioned belief
But you didn't give up, you never knew how to give in
You withheld your memories and all of your past
You pushed and pushed while I always shoved
You screamed at me "how long can you last"
It pained me so, as I looked up to the celestials above
You told me with a blank look on your face
Pulling up your soaked and ripped up sleeve
Your eyes red, rimmed with black, broken grace
Blood poured out down your arm you begged please
You begged "please tell me I'm not alone!"
I watch as the blood poured like tears
It stained you skin all your scars to be shown
You laid them all out, your darkest fears
Before I knew it I started to cry too
My tears match your blood as you leaned over me
I was lost and didn't know what to do
So I complied and pulled up my own sleeve
You stared to laugh as you tried to cope
I knew you meant no harm in your twisted little heart
You truly smiled as you finally saw hope
You traced mine with hands completing my work of art
I cleaned you wounds inside and out
Washed away the pain that we felt
I watched you as you screamed and shout
As we take in these hands we've been dealt
As time flew by we counted all of our scars
One for every let silence scream that no one heard
We always questioned each other how'd we get this far
But silence was the answer, not uttering a word
As we compared our scars
They get deeper and deeper, exposing out bones
We are completely torn apart
We bare them now, knowing we're not alone
As we compared every single battle scar
That was written on our arms year after year
We embraced each other under the brightly lit stars
Letting the world know with one last cry "WE ARE HERE!"
But little did we ever know
Deceiving each, other making us ill
We both planned it wickedly so
We both downed the last of our pills
We say there together in our ever giving glory
Holding hands, each other and I
As what was written on our bodies, our story
Together whispering the last words of a final goodbye
