I Thought I Was Your Favorite

I see my adorable mate give me a glare before dashing out the door. She is already out the door when I let out my laugh.

"Did you see her glare at me?" I proudly ask Tristan who is standing beside me.

"I did." Tristan replies.

"I'm most probably the first one who she glared at." I proudly declared.

"You always do it on purpose to elicit different expressions from her?" He asks. Sometimes, this punk is witty.

It's true that I deliberately kiss her in front of the crowd. But it is for different reasons. The main reason being that she's really cute and I can't help myself but to kiss her. Another reason is to make her get used to my affection. The faster she accepts and gets used to my advances, the happier I will surely be.

My mate is definitely improving. The first time I kissed her in public, she was too shy to even move. The second time, she managed to push me and ran away. Now, she even gave me a cute little glare. My training of her is showing some results.

There is nothing I want more but to get her into my arms. But there are some urgent matters that I need to look into.

I make my way into the garage. Tristan is on my heels.

"Alpha Tane?"

"We found them. They were attacked in the clearing near the falls one hundred kilometers from the west border. Three of the guards were taken. Alpha Tane, his delta and another warrior managed to escape by hiding their scents. We found them at a small human clinic next town." Tristan explains.

"Human clinic?"

"Yes. They hid their scent and went to the crowd to confuse their trackers."

"Didn't the human doctor find them strange?" I ask him. Werewolves heal substantially fast. The human doctor will surely notice it.

"Alpha Tane supposedly paid a huge amount of money to keep his mouth shut."

Paying money? Human greed will surely accept it. But the human heart also changes fast. It will be very troublesome once he spreads the news later.

"That is inconvenient and unreliable. We need to retrieve them as soon as possible. How about his pack?"

"I get the impression that he already contacted them. Supposedly he ordered them to be on high alert and stay in the territory." Tristan answers me.

We already reached the car so I sat on the passenger seat. Tristan starts the engine and drives to the pack house.

"That's smart of him. I'll get him this afternoon. Contact Sebastian and ask if he can go with me." I instruct Tristan.

"Eh? May I ask why?" Tristan asks confusedly. As far as he knows, Sebastian and me only exchanged a few words during the meeting yesterday. Well, he is not incorrect.

"You'll know soon. Have the principal secretly look over Lilly's safety. Tell him I will murder the entire nine generations of his family if a strand of Lilly's hair is missing by the time I see her tonight." I tell him. The principal is the most powerful wolf in the school. He is capable of secretly protecting Lilly.

"Eh? Eh? Mur..? Ah. Un-- understood." Tristan managed to reply. He is probably scared to relay that to the principal. After all, Mr. Barry is a pack elder.

"And assign that curly pup to accompany my mate to go to her room and return to the pack house."

"Curly pup?--" He confusedly asked.
