Maybe it was because of his special identity, but there was never a time when Elliot was ever startled before.

That was until today.

Elliot froze for the second time in his life. And for the first time in his life, he doubted his hearing ability.

Iris probably realized how abrupt her question was so she let go of his hand and awkwardly coughed.

"That.. handsome guy.. I didn't mean you any harm." She clumsily explained while pressing her lips hard together.

Elliot slightly narrowed his eyes at her which made Iris' heart jump.

"You see.. if you'd let me explain it.. over some juice?" She asked him while her eyes turned to the convenience shop near the shore.

........

The door of the convenience was opened and two tall people, an utterly handsome man and a beautiful woman, entered. This shocked the staff who almost dropped the bottles of soda he was arranging on the shelf.

The beautiful woman was wearing a yellow summer dress which perfectly accentuated her glamorous figure. The man, on the other hand, was wearing a good suit like he just came from a corporate meeting. These two beautiful beings, of course, were Elliot and Iris.

The staff wanted to look at the two beautiful people more, but, for an unknown reason, he got scared out of his wits when Elliot met his eyes.

"What do you want to have?" Iris faced Elliot and saw him looking at the soda aisle. So, she asked him, "Do you want a soda?"

Elliot, who never had a soda in his life, just automatically nodded.

Thus, Iris went to buy one soda and a strawberry juice. Elliot, on the other hand, went to the corner of the store, took out his handkerchief from his pocket, and started to clean one of the chairs. After he was satisfied, he grabbed the other chair and sat on it.

Iris came to him a few minutes after and sat on the chair that he just sanitized.

"Uhm. I know this sounds very weird to you.. but I was serious when I asked you to marry me earlier." Iris started to talk.

Elliot looked at her and waited for her to explain more.

"I got myself in this.. situation. I need you to act as my fiance and meet my grandmother with me." She continued.

"And about getting married?" Elliot inquired.

"This.. I sort of told my grandmother that I have a fiance. And that I am bringing him home to meet her today. But earlier I found out that she was preparing a surprise wedding for us.. I really didn't have a fiance so..." Iris explained while her cheeks were tainted pink because of embarrassment.

"I'll pay you!" Iris exclaimed while she rummaged her bag and brought out a card.

"I have been saving and this card has Eight Thousand. I will give you half of it right now." She stated seriously.

"Just help me now, please. I will.. agree to your other conditions! We can even divorce right away.. without my grandmother knowing, of course." Iris winced at the thought.

Suddenly, Elliot's face darkened which made Iris jolt. However, it last only a second until Elliot gave her a smile.

"That smile should be illegal." She unwittingly uttered which made Elliot's smile to be more brilliant.

"Well, I don't think Four Thousand is enough to buy me." Elliot stated as a matter of fact.

Iris bit her lower lip and thought about it. He's right. This kind of high class man couldn't be bought with only Four Thousand.

"Then.. how about Six Thousand?" Iris started to haggle which made Elliot chuckle.

"Not enough."

"I'll give you all Eight Thousand?" Iris offered while giving Elliot an earnest gaze.

"That's not enough." Elliot smirked.

"Ah? But that's all the money I have." Iris confessed.

"Do you think Eight Thousand Pounds is enough to buy someone like me?" Elliot proudly said while he put his elbow on the table and his chin on his fingers.

The particular pose was so fatal that Iris felt her nose starting to bleed.

"Then.. how much do you want?" She asked.

"How much do you think I cost?" Elliot returned her question.

Iris examined his devastating face. From his hair to his eyebrows.. to his eyes.. his nose.. his mouth.. his chin.. his adam's apple..

They were all perfect that Iris gulped.

"I.. don't know how much you cost.." Was all that she could tell him.

"How about you write a blank IOU first? Then later we will discuss how much I worth." Elliot offered while giving her a penetrating gaze.

"Ah? Would that be.. fine?" Iris hesitatingly asked.

"Of course." Elliot answered with a captivating smile.
