All eyes were on them the moment they walked into the lobby of the building.
The lobby was crowded considering it was lunch time. Iris couldn't help but to straighten her back a little as she felt the painful gazes directed on her. In particular, most of the people were looking at her hand which was being held by Elliot.
Elliot noticed her slightly stiff back. Thus, he shamelessly put his other hand on her flat stomach and gently rubbed it while saying, "Walk a little slower." Everyone definitely heard that because they started whispering.
Iris might have like attention, but, at that moment, her ears went very red at his shamelessness.
Elliot walked her to her cubicle and carefully helped her to sit as if she was on her last month of pregnancy.
"Uhm. I'm alright now." Iris told him as she urged him to go. Elliot looked at her eyes before he pitifully sighed. He wanted to spend the whole day with her but he guessed that she would never allow him to work with her at her cubicle.
"Alright. I'll pick you up later." Elliot softly said as he kissed her forehead. Iris watched him walk out of their office. However, he looked back at her once when he was on the door. His expression was sad and he was a little pouting. His eyes were so pitiful that Iris almost grabbed him back and pet his hair.
"Are you really married with the president?" A voice suddenly asked Iris the moment Elliot was out of the room.
Iris looked and saw that her co-workers were standing nearby. All of them walked and surrounded Iris' cubicle.
Iris unconciously touched the ring on her finger and everyone looked at it. The ring was very beautiful and elegant that it almost blinded them.
"Yes.. we got married." Iris admitted as she blushed. Her co-workers said 'ooohhhhh' as they watched the beautiful woman.
"Were you dating for long time?"
"Why haven't you told us?"
Her co-workers started talking at the same time. At that moment, the door of their office and Melinda came in. She glanced at Iris' cubicle and met her eyes. Suddenly, she acted as if she saw something horrifying as she quickly looked away and practically ran to her own cublicle as if she was looking for shelter.
Iris furrowed her brows on the shameless girl. She was the one who tried to repeatedly hurt me but she acts as if I did something bad to her? She thought.
Their office was big and spacious but the cubicles were arranged side by side. Thus, Melinda's cubicle was not that far away from Iris' and she could still hear their conversations.
"I heard what happened yesterday!" Someone loudly whispered.
"Me too! I heard she pushed you? By the way are you okay now?" Another person stated.
"Ah.. That's right! Congratulations on your pregnancy!" A senior employee said. Everyone likewise gave their congratulations to her.
Iris was feeling awkward by the situation. Afterall, she wasn't really pregnant. She just said that to get even at Melinda who tried so hard to ruin her career. Moreover, she also tried to embarrass her in front of everyone.
"Alright peeps. Lunch time is over. Go back to your cubicles and stop stressing Iris." A loud voice said and Bella walked over.
Everyone slightly complained but they still obediently went back to work. Afterall, they don't have the guts to stress the president's wife....
Iris saw Bella and hurriedly hugged her arm.
"Bella.. come with me to get some tea?"

The two women just arrived to the pantry when Bella suddenly asked, "Are you happy?"
Iris was surprised and looked at her friend. She still looked as emotionless as before but the tone of her question told Iris of the worry that she felt.
Iris gave her a smile before hugging her arm.
"Bella.. aren't you curious about our love story?" She whined.
"No." Bella flatly said which elicited a laugh out of Iris.
"If you're asking if I'm happy.. well, I.." Iris stopped talking and played with her ring.
"I am very happy." She added while smiling. "I can't still understand most of what happened. Elliot just.. suddenly came into my life but.. he looks at me as if I am.. his everything." Iris blushed.
"But Bella.. how can a man like him can suddenly like this much?" Iris bit her lips before continuing, "Still, I believe him and everything he tells me... and I'm falling really fast."
Iris wasn't looking at Bella but if she did, she would see Bella's lips were arched upward.
However, it was gone the moment Iris turned to look at her. "Bella... he is super dreamy.. super sexy." Iris laughed and started to boil water for her tea.
Then, Bella saw her take the black tea from the shelf and put it in her cup.
"It's better not to drink black tea on your condition right now." Bella stepped forward and grabbed Iris' cup. Then, she started to warm up some milk.
Iris blinked and embarrasedly said. "Actually, Bella.. I'm not really pregnant."
Beside Elliot who actively joined her in her plays, this was Iris' first time to admit her lie to another. She just felt wrong lying to Bella.
Bella froze for a second and looked at Iris' face before looking down at her flat stomach. Then, she looked up again at Iris and stared at the mark on her neck. She looked like she was contemplating something serious.
It took her a few seconds to respond before she seriously said, "....from now on, it's best that you drink milk."
