It was a sunny friday morning when Iris stopped at a gas station on the way to her grandma's house.

Since her grandma strongly insisted, Iris agreed to bring her fiance with her. Later, she would have to make an excuse that her fiance suddenly had an emergency. So, he cannot go. Iris felt bad when she thought of her grandma's disappointment but she was already so deep in her lie that she couldn't think of a way to save herself.

Her grandmother's house was in the suburb and this was the only gasoline station on the road before town.

Since it was a holiday, many people were out and the road was lively. Iris parked by the side of the station and went inside the convenience store to buy some strawberry juice.

When she went out of the store, she saw a truck filled with beautiful Iris flowers. It attracted her attention and went near to closely observe the flowers.

"They're beautiful, ain't they?" A tall man came near Iris. He seemed to be the driver of the truck.

"Yes. They are beautiful." Iris replied while smiling. Her eyes formed into crescent shape which made the man daze a little.

"These were ordered by a grandmother. I heard she was planning to give her granddaughter and her husband-to-be a surprise." The man started telling a story.

"A surprise? This much flowers?" Iris curiously asked.

"Yes! I heard the granddaughter's name was also Iris. So the grandmother ordered a whole truck of them." The man laughingly said.

Iris' heart thumped upon hearing it. No way.. can it be?

"Boss, are you talking about the town fifty kilometers from here?" She carefully asked.

"Oh! Yes! Do you happen to know the old woman I'm talking about?" The guy replied.

Iris' heart beat like crazy. As far as she knew, she was the only Iris in their small town. Coincidentally, the man mentioned that the flowers were for a woman named Iris and her husband-to-be who were coming to visit her grandma's home today. What were the chances? She was pretty sure that the flowers were for her and her imaginary fiance!

However, although she was living comfortably, her grandma was not rich. Why would she order so much Irises?

"I'm not sure, boss!" She answered the guy. "I'm just curious what the occasion was. I'm pretty sure it's a special one." Iris acted like she was curious and excited. "Do you know anything?" She asked the guy while her palm started to sweat.

The guy chuckled and winked at her before saying "Of course, I know! These flower arrangements are only for one occasion. That is.. the grandmother was arranging a surprise wedding for her granddaughter and her fiance!"

......

It can't be, right? Iris murmured when she returned to her car.

A surprise wedding? How could that be?

However, she knew that in their state, a couple could hold the wedding first before having it registered. It's perfectly legal and binding for both the parties.

But how can I get married to an imaginary person? Iris thought while she felt herself starting to freak out.

I need to cancel this trip first. Iris grabbed her phone and started calling her grandma's phone.

"My dear!" Her grandmother answered after a long time. Iris heard happiness in the tone of her voice and she knew that her grandma was in a fantastic mood. In contrast, her mood started to turn sour.

"Where are you? Take your time in coming here!" She heard her a couple of laughs in the background after her grandmother's words.

"Do you have people around, grandma?" Iris carefully asked her grandma who merely laughed heartily at her question.

"Yes. Some of our relatives are here." Her grandma replied and Iris felt chills on her spine. Her relatives never visited her grandma except for special occasions like birthdays and.. weddings.

It's not grandma's birthday today.. Iris thought as she felt sweat on her forehead.

"Actually.. grandma.. today.." She started to explain that there was a sudden emergency in her company so she couldn't go. However, the words were stuck on her throat.

"Today.. is a very special day, my dear child. I have never been this happy for so long." She heard her grandmother say. "You know I am already very old. My dear child, all I want is to see you happy." She added.

At that moment, Iris knew that she was in very big trouble.
