67: Unfathomable advances...

Nandini's pov:

The day by far must have been seemingly uneventful otherwise but the confusion flooding mind of mine had no rest, even as I sat working on one of the blueprint of a project my thoughts dawdle around the conversation with kaka earlier in the morning. My eyes kept drifting to my bag where the letter was, battling with the anxiousness to read it at once and to hold back the urge taking in accord the situation I am in.

Of course kaka didn't want Manik to know as of now or why would he give me the letter instead of manik! Engaged in my thoughts the tap on my table was hazily audible to me but not so much to catch my attention. It was shriek of my name that startled me!

" what!? Dhyaan kaha hai tumhara main kabse tumhe bula raha hu!...are you fine!?" a worried manik hovering me questioned amused at my utter lack of attention.

" I am, I was just thinking about this blueprint..I mean the detailing!" he frowned at my giddy tone but bought it anyways, with an acknowledging nod he began discussing the cons of a project that a company willing to work with infinity had, thankfully that worked well to get my mind off the letter!

" Manik! I know you probably should discuss it with the investors but in my opinion, i really think u should give it a thought if u are looking forward to work with them, i mean it will bring more loss than profit to us plus with their reputation already touching grounds, it won't do any good to us! It only works their way best!" for a second he stood starring nowhere in particular before nodding slightly.

" I think you are right! Of course I'll still have to talk this out with our investors but I am sure they'll get the point, this can damage our reputation as well considering the ceo has been accused for numerous scandals already!" he left for his seat after i nodded at him positively.

" Nandini!" he called me out still a few steps away from his desk!

" yes!" i said flopping my head at him.

" i hope you are really fine! If out i am right here anytime u want an ear!" he assured, ohh! I have definitely underestimated this man in terms of him knowing me. I shook my head, flushed at getting caught.

The clock striked 6, my anxiety already on edge, I wished to get home asap and finally be able to read that damm letter which kept bugging me for the whole day, so I acted on my instincts. Hurriedly I sorted all my mess and bidding manik a hasty goodbye, which I am quite sure would have left him buzzled i strode out of infinity.

The heaves certainly were on my side today owing to the less traffic across. I reached home and dashed right into my room, slamming the door shut i walked towards my bed simultaneously wriggling through my bag to find the letter along with the key.

I got them soon enough, making myself comfortable on my bed i took the letter, taking a deep breath to get rid of the restlessness, i slowly unfolded it.
