With heavy heart I went to the boarding gate. Iloilo always have been a happy place me but for now, I'm thinking twice.
Last night I greeted Mika a Merry Christmas, nagkita nga kami at buong araw na magkasama eh. Hinatid ko na lang siya around 5pm kasi magsisimba rin sila.
Masayang masaya ako to spend holidays na kami, she is my breath of fresh air after all. Mika makes everything lighter, ngitian at tatawanan lang ako niyan okay na.
"Paps, paskong pasko para kang biyernes-santo jan." Von said obviously trying to lift my mood up. Nakatitig lang ako sa phone ko, waiting for a message or call from Mika.
"Don't worry, miss ka din nun." He added pero wala talaga ako sa mood eh. I plugged in my earphones and volumed up my music.
I gave her a white gold anklet, the details were hearts. I wanted to give her necklace or bracelet but I know she seldom wear those kaya naisip kong bigyan na lang siya ng anklet.
Thirdy was teasing me pa nga about it.
"Nakanang Manong, alam mo ba na may meaning kapag binigyan mo ng anklet ang girlfriend mo?" He blurted out. Aba malay ko.
"Ano naman?" I asked him and he just smiled at me. Lokong to.
Later on I found out what Thirdy's trying to tell me. Pauly said, "They say if you give an anklet to a woman you want them."
I swear I know I blushed, di naman siguro alam ni Mika yun. Saka.. the real intention was because I wanted to give her something precious. That's it.
My thoughts we're disturbed.
"Pwedeng magpapicture?" I felt someone poking. Nagready na ko to say yes kung fan lang to na nanghihingi ng picture with me but when I saw who it was.

I bought him a polo shirt, matchy matchy with mine and gave it to him before we went separate ways.
He kissed me and gave me his gift. It was an anklet with hearts, by the looks of it. This ought to be a white gold.
"Tsk. Magkano nanaman to Kiefer?" I glared at him and he returned it with a silly smile.
"Merry Christmas din baby." Inakbayan niya ako saka naramdaman kong hinalikan niya ako sa ulo.
"Thank you. Merry Christmas baby."
Umalis siya na mejo malungkot, naginarte din akong malungkot when in fact he's not gonna miss me this Christmas Day.

"Mama..." Kabado akong magpaalam kay Mama about my plan but I have to do it.
"Bakit Potch?" She asked me not leaving her gaze on the television.
I sat beside her.
"Can I go to Iloilo this 25 with Kiefer?" Dire-diretso kong paalam. Tinignan ako ni Mama, waiting for a follow up.
"May game kasi sila dun, kaya aalis siya. Eh.. Ma, first Christmas namin dapat together. Yun na lang sana ireregalo ko. Please?" I plead, tinignan akong mabuti ni Mama.
"Kasama sino?" Tanong niya. Sinagot ko, ibang teammates from Ateneo, si Thirdy.
"Magpaalam ka kay Papa mo." Nakahinga ako when she said that, alam ko napayagan niya na ako. Kay Papa na lang.
"Pero okay sayo ah? Okay sayo! Yay!!!" Too happy I hugged my Mama.
"I love you Ma!" I told her and kissed her cheeks.
