I woke up with a bad, very bad headache. Damn hangovers! I am never gonna drink that much again, says everyone who suffers hangover.
"Mabuti naman you are awake na, Sleeping Beauty." Oh darn, that's my roomie slash bestie, Micah. I know she won't spare me today, I got so wasted last night. Hindi ko tuloy maalala what happened, my last blurred memory before I past out was.. I cringed my forehead, then I felt a pang in my head. Crap!
"You don't remember the events last night rather, earlier no?" Napahawak ako sa ulo, shit vodka. Micah is standing at the end of my bed, her hands on her waist. Talo pa nanay ko.
"Maycs, super sakit ng ulo ko. Can you just spare me this morning?" I got up from my bed, diretso sa cr. I stared at my reflection, yung mascara ko mejo kalat na, sobrang pale ng itsura ko. I washed my face. Ni hindi pa ko nakakapagpalit, I'm still wearing my last night's outfit.
"I didn't know you are pathetic, Trincs."
Whoa, where did that came from? I gave her a shut-up look.
Masama na bang maginom because I am desperately sad? Pinilit ko tuloy alalahanin ang nangyari kagabi. Nakahawak ako sa sink, still staring at my reflection sa mirror.
"Shit!"
Naalala ko na. Fuck! I called Kiefer! Lumabas ako ng cr to look for my phone. I saw it sa side table. I checked my call logs.
Damn.Damn.Damn!
"Now we're talking." That's Micah's voice.
"He came?" Masama ba kung matuwa ako kasi dumating siya kagabi for me? He still care.
"Yes, at nakakaawa ka." Ouch. This is what I love about Micah, she's straight forward. Very lawyer.
Napaupo ako sa bed ko.
"What did he say?"
"Trinca, you're my bestfriend. I know I have to understand what you're going through but he's right this was your decision after all." She sat beside me sa bed.
"I know that and I regret it!" Our voices are high now.
"And what? You want him back? It's too late now Trinca! Just so you know, he loves her." I smirked. Micah doesn't know but kilala ko si Kiefer bago pa maging kami magkaibigan na kami. I know him! Alam ko na he is just building his ego back. I know very well na ako ang dahilan kung bakit nakipagdate siya kay Mika Reyes.
"Don't give me that crook smile Trinca, don't try bitchin' on me."
"Micah, he came for me last night. Alam ko he still loves me."
"Didn't it come to you na, maybe he came out of pity? Or prolly because he is just being a gentleman. Or worst, for old time sake?" Micah said in a matter of fact tone. Tss, no way.
"Did you know he came all the way from Antipolo para lang puntahan ako? I know naalala ko na binuhat niya ko. He bridal carried me. Bakit niya ginawa yun? Out of pity pa din?" Sorry bestfriend but I can't lose him. I want him back. Micah shook her head as disapproval.
"You won't understand where I'm coming Maycs because you just let go of Harold without fighting for him!" I saw the hurt in my bestfriend's eyes. Oh me and my mouth , it was already too late kung bawiin ko pa. Nasaktan ko na siya.
"Maycs, sorry. I... I didn't.."
"Stop it Trinca, siguro nga I don't understand you. Sige, do what pleases you but remember, I warned you. I saw him last night, the way he looked at you. Naramdaman ko that he is trying to figure out his feelings. Siguro for few seconds he was confused."
