Mika
"Miks, gising ka pa?" I saw my Mom with a glass of water in hand looking at me. I'm at the table with my paperworks. Scattered everywhere are my chips, chocolates, donuts. I like eating while studying or working, it keeps my mind generating.
"Doing schoolworks Ma, nagising ka po?" I thought she'll go back to their room when I answered her but she sat in front of me instead.
"Yan ba yung dinaan ni Kiefer dito?" She said referring to the foods on top the table. I grinned.
"Guilty." Mom smiled at me.
"Ang sweet ng batang yun, drove all the way from Cainta to satisfy your cravings?"
"Opo nga eh, spoiled na spoiled ako Ma." I said proudly, I love that Mom, Dad and my sibs respect my relationship with Kiefer.
"I know you are happy Mika and I know you know what you're doing. Bata ka pa driven ka na, kapag may nagustuhan ka and decided to put your self into it, you give your all." Okay, mukhang serious talk kami ni Mama. I let my pen down and removed my eyeglasses.
"Alam mong hindi ako nakikialam sayo."
"Opo naman Ma."
"And I just want to tell you straight, kung hindi ko pa nasasabi..." This is somewhat excruciating. The thought na baka di nila nagugustuhan yung lagi kong pagpunta sa house nila Kiefer or yung paguwi ko ng gabi, or yung lagi naming pag-alis ni Kief. Shit! Worse baka akala nila napapabayaan ko na ang pagaaral ko and will ask me to stop seeing Kiefer because the relationship is eating all my time. Damn!!
I'm starting to panic but acted cool about it. Relax lang Mika, di pa tapos si Mama mo. Hinga.
"I'm proud of you."
Shit! Hindi ko kayang hiwalayan si Kiefer mahal ko siya.
"Mom please, mahal ko si... What?" When it sinked in to me what Mom just said I am dumbfounded.
"Anong pinagsasabi mo jan Mika?" Mom looked suspicious.
"Hindi ka galit?"
"Why would I be? May rason ba Mikka?" Yan na yung Mikka. Yari! Napakamot ako ng ulo.
"Akala ko you think na I'm spending too much time with Kief at sasabihin mong hiwalayan ko na siya." I confessed and Mom laughed out loud. Oh ikaw na masaya!
"Mika, everytime you go out with Kiefer or with his family nagpapaalam ka ng maayos, si Kiefer din nagsasabi samin. Why would I be mad? Not unless you two are doing something na alam niyong ikakagalit namin ng Daddy mo?" She suddenly had this look and tone na mejo nagets ko. Napawasiwas ako agad ng kamay ko.
"Mom!! Of course we won't do anything stupid naman!!" I felt myself blushed and Mom can't stop laughing. Ibang klase!
"Alam mo Mika, I trust you and surely right now, I trust Kiefer. Kami ng Papa mo, kaya nga kahit late night pinapayagan ka namin because we know that boy respects you and we felt secured kapag siya ang kasama mo." Uy pogi points ni Kiefer dun ah, taas.
"Thanks Mom."
"Basta continue the healthy relationship you both have. Kita ko yung happiness niyong dalawa, and I couldn't be more happier because of that." I can't help it, I stoop up and went behind my Mama. I hugged the life out of her.
"Love you so much Mama." Her hands on my arms, softly touching me.
"Big girl ka na talaga, hindi lang tall. Hindi ka na baby girl ng Papa mo."
"Mama naman eh! Baby girl pa din! Bukod kay Mikole." Parehas kaming tumawa.
"Oh sige na, you should finish your work here. Don't stay up too late. Matulog na agad pagkatapos!" Mom stood up, and for the last time for tonight. I embraced her.
