FORTH'S POV

I informed Bee of our task for the day. He was very happy, hearing that his starting university on Monday. It's like the first day of school isn't a problem not to mention he's a week late for classes and that only means a lot of catching up.

Since he had already changed his clothes, we decided to just head out. I never knew I woke up this late, it was already past noon.

I turned to Beam who was sitting on the passenger seat, silently staring outside the car's window.

"Did you have the list from Kit?" I asked trying to start a conversation. He nodded.

"Is it okay if we have our lunch at the mall?" This time he stared at me with an unreadable expression.

"But, what about the soup that I cooked?" He asked with a low voice.

"Well, we could reheat ut for dinner..." I said.

"Oh, Okay. I don't want it to go waste." It was the only word I got for an answer but then he smiled.

Arriving at the mall, Beam unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the door to get out. I get it. He is excited but whats with his facade.

As we entered the mall, I stayed closely at him, following him from behind.

"Should we eat first or you want to fetch your stuff then eat later..." I asked him. He stopped walking and told me to decide which.

I lead him inside the school's supplies section.

"Can you send me the list?" He didn't reply but he fished his phone out of his pocket and started tapping. I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket.

We started looking for the things listed, mainly medical-related stuff. I volunteered on pushing the cart as he was so engrossed choosing between which of which he would get.

"You know don't have to worry about the brand or the price..." I said when I saw him scanning through the brands and choosing the ones with the lowest price as indicated on the tags.

But what surprises me was his answer.

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one paying." I felt the coldness in his tone. Are we back to this burden thingy, again? I mentally made a monologue.

"Bee, you know it's not like that." I heard him sighed but continued on looking for things.

We were almost done when Beam suddenly stopped in his place.

"I'm sorry, P'..." He mumbled.

"You know I can never get mad at you..." I took a step forward and ruffled his hair.

"You're right. I'm rich, now...." He announced. I was amused.

"Let's eat maybe you're just hungry. Being grumpy is not you,  it's Kit." I jokingly whispered the last part making him laugh.

"I dare you to say that in front of him, P."

I raised my hand and shook my hand as disapproval.

"Nope. Never gonna happen." We smiled at each other and went to the counter to pay for the things we had on our cart. While waiting, I handed his card to him. It was given by Por when we meet at the university.

Beam looked at me, confused.

"It's yours. Pops made it sure to give you that before he c..." I stopped. I shouldn't have told him. It was supposed to be a surprise.

"Before he what, P'... Who's Pops?" He asked.

"Well, he's your grandfather.," I answered.

He just nodded and went back on lingering his gaze around the mall. I let out a sigh of relief when he didn't question me further. When it was now his turn to on the counter, Bee smiled at the lady behind it handing the card I just gave him. The cashier dared to look at Bee, suspiciously but when her stare shifted at me and I raised a brow at her, she did what she had to.

We went to the food court. Bee said he isn't a fan of fancy restaurants as he can feel constipated just by thinking how much the food cost.

"P'Luke cooks better than this..." He commented out of the blue. It was loud enough to make the people from neighboring tables look at him, weirdly. Who in their right mind would do that? My forehead creased upon hearing him utter another unfamiliar name but I chose not to ask him about it.

We decided to stroll around after that. We were heading for the exit when Beam stopped in front of a pet shop. I stood beside him.

"P', you think I can get a kitten?" He asked with his showing how hopeful he is that I would say yes but I'm more of a dog person.

"Uhmmm...NO." He looked defeated. I felt bad but still NO.

"How about a puppy?" He flashed another hopeful gaze. I can't really win against him.

"Fine but it's not my fault if it chews on your things," I say adding a bit of an argument hoping he'll change his mind but he didn't instead he got his eyes locked on a white pup on the corner of the playpen. It was smaller compared to the other ones there.

We approached the staff for inquiries and there Beam displayed his smiles. The staff told us that the puppy will be put inside a carrier but Bee insisted to just carry it on his arms.

I settled Beam's stuff on the backseat before running back to the driver seat. Bee sitting on the passenger's seat with the puppy on his lap. He was running his hands on its fur.

"So, what are you going to name him?" I asked him while driving out of the parking space.

"Kitten!" He giggled.

"Are you drunk?! Who in their right mind would name a puppy, Kitten?" I voiced out. I really don't know how to react to this one.

"Well, I love kittens but you won't let me have one. I also love puppies so I'll name him Kitten. It's like having both. But, I know you won't get it, just like P'Phana said." He reasoned out his nonsense. He even bothered to quote Phana's stupid remarks.

BEAM'S POV

It was already evening when we arrived home. P'Forth took care of my things as I was busy playing with Kitten. I sat on the floor in the living room, placing my adorable pet on the mat. Earlier when I was in the car, I did a mini-research about dogs and I found out that my baby is called a teacup pomeranian and it cost so much. He has soft white fur which made him look like a cotton ball.

I glanced at the wall clock and noticed that it's almost dinner time. I left Kitten in the living room and went inside the kitchen to reheat the soup I made this morning.

It made me remember what happened this morning, at first I thought what I was feeling was guilt but when I felt a different surge of emotions rush through me I know it was something I could ask Dr. Kongthanin during our sessions.

Once done, I skip my way to the room and called P'Forth. I saw him lying on his stomach playing mobile games. He was on my side of the bed. I stood by the door.

"P', dinner time..." I tried getting his attention.

"Don't have an appetite, Bee. You can eat by yourself..." I didn't let him finish what he was saying. He didn't even bother to look at me and continued tapping whatever he's doing.

I went back to the kitchen counter, grabbed a lunchbox filling it with the soup. I didn't bother sparing some for myself. I checked on Kitten before going back to the bedroom to get my phone and jacket.  I felt P'Forth's stare and was about to ask, maybe, but I didn't bother waiting for it.

I messaged P'Luke to meet me in the lobby of the building. Heading downstairs, I was holding a paper bag on my left hand.

I sat on the couch in the lobby which was intended for visitors of those who are living in the condominium.

"Kid, what happened?" A voice asked. I looked up to see, P'Joss instead of P'Luke.

"Nothing, P'," I said handing him the bag. He looked at me, confused. "What's this?" He implored.

"It's my unappreciated soup," I said with a faint smile. He looked at me, this time he looked worried.

"Beamie..."
