Being an avid reader of Paulo Coelho's books, I've come to believe in omens. Good omens and bad omens. If you read his books, you know what I'm talking about, if not, those are some signs of nature, or say, external factors steering your life in another direction or possibly, making you rethink your initial decision, and in some situations, they help you choose, indicating a direction. (And hey, you definitely need to start reading his books).

Good omens are the positive signals we're given; someone helping you out, things working smoothly, discovering answers to the questions you had in your journey, feeling a sense of contentment deep within and such. Thereby, encouraging us that we're indeed on the right path.
While bad omens may develop a sense of confusion, or hurdles in the path or perhaps landing back to square one, thus, your journey and efforts all wasted. But bad omens may some times represent themselves as hardships testing our resolve on the right path, whether we want it as badly. And that brings us to our first question:

1. How would you differentiate 'hardships to test you' from bad omens?

I'm not sure how many times I've asked that question, but I'll continue to ask it as many times, till I get a satisfying answer.

Let's say, I want something. When that happens, we translate every single thing in that direction, grab the smallest of signals around us and forcefully drag it there, fooling ourselves that it's an omen. An omen is something that tells us if something is good for us, our will excluded. So:

2. How do you know it's an omen and not your own biased inclination towards something making you look at it as if it were an omen?

That's all for now. I'm looking forward to a nice debate, the best answers will be added in the next part of this segment after two days.
