Dear Nanny,

I look at those girls around me.
With bright, carefree laughs,
Starry-eyed, loud and bubbly,
Who can talk to anyone and everyone for hours,
And always have humorous life stories to tell,
Those fire-breathing, fearless girls.
They make me envious..

Nanny, I've smiled plenty, but laughed not enough.
Nanny, I was always taught to be quiet and cool headed. To keep my composure.
Nanny, I never know who to trust and open up to.
Nanny, I've lived my life too carefully, too sensibly for there to exist any humour.
Nanny, I appear to be a plain, plain girl.

Am I just a plain girl, Nanny?
