It is said there once lived a Farmer.
He planted one seed, raised one Horse, and set one Ox aside for slaughter. From that seed grew the Prairie.
Generations later, the Prairie has become a people, a history, and a way of life-and Gedeliah, grandson of its Farmer, has inherited the burden of keeping it alive. To his people, he is the Cowboy. To Kinesh, Lord Pride. To merchants and debtors across the West, the Liberty. And to the powers gathering in the East, he may soon become something far more dangerous.
Then he meets Glory.
Princess Gloria is the Firstborn of an Eastern King, heir to an empire built upon conquest, bloodline, and stories older than either of them. She has been raised inside those stories. Pride has been raised beyond them. When the two heirs meet, neither understands how much of the Land has already been decided in their absence.
So Pride and Glory ride east.
Across slave markets, dying settlements, fortified roads, merchant kingdoms, and forgotten Junctions, they begin to uncover a power spreading farther west than either believed possible. Every stop reveals another chain. Another tax. Another soldier. Another name spoken with fear. But the greatest danger is not the man waiting at the end of the road.
It is what may be left behind when the road is finished.
The Cowboy rides east to save the Prairie. Glory does not yet know what must be saved. And neither knows what the East will demand before it lets them turn back.
