Y/n was puzzled by his question. She knew that was eventually apart of the mission, she just hadn't expected it to be this quick. She crossed her arms and smirked at him, looking him up and down for a moment.

"I'm flattered, but I'm not cut out to be an agent like that," she said, playing hard to get. "I don't know the first thing about that sort of thing."

"You might not think you do, but I saw you up there. You've got amazing potential. Were you trained at all?" Midas replied, his expression more stern than earlier.

Y/n shrugged, "Not exactly, no. I know how to build and use a gun, but that's common knowledge."

"You have a gift, then!" Skye grinned, her chirpy attitude coming back. "Please? If not an immediate yes, at least give it a shot! We need someone like you with Shadow on the loose."

Y/n fought off a scoff and forced a smile. "I'm sure they're not that bad."

"They're pretty damn bad," Midas mumbled, eyeing Skye. "Do you have a side?"

"No. I purposefully chose to stay out of that stupid war," Y/n replied, lying.

I hate how I have to lie.

"Well, I'm really interested in having you join Ghost. Would you like to at least stop by the Agency to check it out, meet the squadmates? You can train with us for a little bit, too, to make sure you're comfortable. Plus, I'm more than generous when paying," Midas spoke.

Y/n bit her lip, then nodded slowly. "Okay. Sure, why not?" she smiled softly. "My current job sucks anyway."

"YAY!" Skye giggled, jumping up and hugging Midas' side. "Skye-!" he groaned, pushing her off. He didn't seem like the type of guy to enjoy physical contact. Y/n chuckled, "You're quite the hyper girl."

"Tell me about it," Midas mumbled. "C'mon, Boss!" she grabbed Y/n's hand and bolted, Midas shouting after her, "Don't scare her off, Agent! Drop her!"

Y/n laughed then let out a loud groan when Skye stopped, making Y/n crash into her. "Ow!" Skye groaned, rubbing her side. Y/n winced, "Sorry..."

"Skye. Cut it out," Midas narrowed his eyes at her, crossing his arms angrily. "Get that energy out with Ollie."

"Yeah, where is Ollie anyway?" Skye frowned, looking up at her hair. "Right here, Agent." Midas grabbed a hat from his pocket and Skye squealed, grabbing it and patting it as she put it on her head. "Missed you buddy!"

Y/n swore she could've heard it respond in a series of high-pitched squeals, but she was probably delusional. "So, am I supposed to just call you Boss or what?" Y/n turned to Midas, already knowing his name but having to ask anyway for the sake of the mission.

Midas chuckled, shaking his head. "No. Not yet, at least, if everything goes to plan," he smiled softly. "Call me M for now."

"Nice to meet you, M," Y/n smiled softly. "And you too, Skye."

"Sorry about making you crash into me!" Skye called out, already running towards the boat at the bottom of Risky.

"She's energetic," M said, shaking his head as he put his golden hands in his pockets.

"Clearly," Y/n chuckled, following him. "She seems nice, though. Both of you do."

Midas fought back a smile and simply nodded, keeping a close eye on her. "She's... unpredictable. Unlike most of my other Agents."

"How many do you have?" Y/n asked, turning her head to him. "4 other main ones. 5 if you count Deadpool," Midas responded, nodding for her to get into the boat.

"It's.. solid gold!" Y/n's eyes widened, forgetting he could turn things to gold.

"My personal touch," Midas spoke, getting into the boat and helping her in. Y/n smiled as she sat down, "Thanks."

"LETS GOOOOO!" Skye squealed as Midas started driving away, laughing. "I love this thing!"

For the remainder of the short trip, Y/n chatted with Skye as Midas stayed completely quiet. They quickly got there, and Y/n was awestruck.

"Woah... I knew the Agency was beautiful, but this is gorgeous!" she gasped, getting out of the boat with Midas' help. Stepping out, she accidentally lost her footing and squealed, falling forward when Midas caught her.

"Woah!" he grabbed her quickly, pulling her to his chest with his hand on her waist to steady her. "You alright?" Y/n blushed lightly and nodded, biting her lip as she steadied herself. "Yeah... thanks. I uhm, stepped too close to the edge of the boat, I think."

He nodded and let her go, walking ahead of her as Skye was already out of sight. "C'mon. Stay close, the Henchmen shoot whoever they don't know."

"Be right there," Y/n responded, leaning over the boat again, "I lost my bag," she lied. Midas nodded and started walking up ahead, leaving the loading dock behind. Y/n waited for a moment before pressing on her earpiece which was hidden from her hair, "Agent 38 checking in. Target is bringing me inside. Will update once I'm with Ghost." she took her earpiece out and stuck it in her bag, swung it over her shoulder and dashed up ahead to meet him.

"Sorry about th - oh..." Y/n gulped, turning to see three henchmen with their guns pointed at her.

"Hands in the air. State your name and intention."

Y/n quickly raised her hands up, gulping, "Y/n... M brought me here to possibly join Ghost."

"Likely story," one mumbled, stepping a bit closer to her when someone cleared their voice.

"Stand down, Henchmen," Midas appeared from behind them, glaring at them. "She's with me."

"Sorry, Sir!" the other one said quickly, all three dropping their guns and walking away. "Go back about your business, ma'am."

Y/n smiled softly at Midas, looking down from embarrassment. "Thanks for that. Again," she spoke softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Let's not make saving you a habit of mine, yeah?" Midas smirked, nodding for her to follow him. "Come on."
