Y/n and Marigold both stood their ground, walking towards the suit, "Stand down, you are breaking and entering!" Y/n snapped, glaring angrily at him.

The man froze and slowly put his gun down, until he dropped it. His front helmet piece shrunk down, exposing his face and Y/n let out a scream, dropping her pistol to the ground.

"Y/n?" he spoke softly. Y/n let out a broken sob and covered her mouth in shock, her hands shaking, "N-no..."

"Y/n... don't be afraid," he spoke softly, walking closer to her and frowning when she took several steps back, "I'm real. I'm here. I can explain," Midas spoke softly. She shook her head, unable to fathom the fact that her dead boyfriend was living and breathing in front of her.

"Please. It's me, look..." Midas quickly started taking off his golden mech, leaving him in his extremely tattered old suit. "I'm here. I'm alive..."

"I saw you die," her voice was so broken, so soft that she barely even heard herself, "you died in my arms."

"I cannot die. Not yet, at least. For the time being, you and I both are immortal," Midas tried to explain, gently reaching out to take her hand. Reluctantly, she let him take it, and she stiffened, "Immortal?"

"Yes," Midas smiled softly, moving closer to her. He cupped her cheek gently, stroking it with the tip of his thumb as he teared up, "Can we talk about that later? You're... you're finally with me again. I've been waiting an entire month to hold you again..."

Y/n let out a broken sob and rushed forward, hugging him tightly. He himself started to cry as he picked her up, spinning her as he held her the tightest he had ever held her before. Caressing the back of her neck, he pressed his face against hers and sobbed silently into her hair, "You're here..."

"I'm here," Midas replied so softly only she could hear it. "I'm not leaving anymore."

"You have a lot of explaining to do," Y/n muttered, pulling away to examine his face. Her heart fluttered as she finally gazed into his gorgeous golden eye again, feeling safe and comforted in his arms. She cupped his cheek, stroking over the scar on his face as she sighed heavily, "And you better do it fast before I wake up from this shitty dream."

"I can assure you, this is not a dream, love," Midas grinned, kissing her fingertips gently. He moved his hand down to caress her hipbone, rubbing countless circles onto it as he took in her beauty. He wiped her tears, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, "I'm real and I'm alive."

"Just shut up and kiss me," she muttered, looking up at him and gripping what was left of his shirt lapels, pulling him flush against her as he kissed him needily. He let out a low grunt in response and kissed her back, his arms snaking around her body to hold her close.

She deepened the kiss, finally gaining that feeling after having lost it for 5 months. She was back in her lover's arms, kissing him and holding him again. For once in 5 months, she felt happy.

He sighed softly once they pulled away, getting lost in her eyes as they heard someone clear their throat. Midas turned and looked at a hooded figure beside them and he furrowed his brows, "I'm sorry. Who may you be?"

She flipped her hood down, looking at him with teary eyes. She bit her lip as she looked up at him, sniffling, "...Dad?"

Midas' eyes widened and his jaw slacked, his grip on Y/n loosening as he looked over at her fully, "...Marigold...?"

He quickly remembered Oro's last words to him - "You are not alone."

When I came back, he must've brought her back, too.
