Chapter 3 - U.A Entrance Exam - Part I

It was early in the morning, Kaito woke up ready for another day. Brushed his teeth, took a quick shower, put on his school uniform, and was ready to leave after his breakfest, his mother made him before leaving. She has to leave pretty early due to her job as a nurse at the local hospital. Kaito looked at the calendar on the wall as he ate his breakfest.

"The next U.A Entrance exam is in a couple of Months." He thought as he munched his breakfast. "I better get ready." He left the house and went for another school day.

On the way to the school Kaito saw Midoriya, as always, they crossed paths, but something seemed different today, Midoriya was pretty hyped up, the kid was always smiling, but not like this.

"Hey, you seem different today, are you ok?" Kaito asked, curious with the boy's different demeanor.

"Yeah, I'm just excited!" Midoriya exclaimed, proudly raising his fist in the air and and a smile. "Today I'll begin my training for the U.A's Entrance exam!"

"You too? Well, do your best!" Cheered Kaito.

"Atsuhito... You said 'you too', does that mean you're training as well?" Midoriya asked, with a quizzical look.

"Yes sir. Honestly, I'm out of shape, and my Quirk isn't really the best right now." Kaito laughs, rubbing the back of his head.

The day went on as usual, the only differences being Midoriya happier than usual, and Bakugo strangely quiet.

Kaito arrived home, greeted by his mother as always. After eating dinner and taking a bath he went for his room, picked a notebook and started taking notes on how could his quirk be usefull. He watched a couple of videos on how steam worked, and how it could be used.

"Ten months, I think I got this."

For the first weeks or so, Kaito focused on his Quirk, to sharpen his control over it, to discover its weaknesses, as well as his own weaknesses. Drawing his first costume based on what he had learned, his room was filled with anotations and sketches.

After mastering his quirk, it was time to focus on sharpening his mind and body, for the next months he trained, nothing too serious, just enough to put him in the game. Kaito noted that during that time Midoriya looked ever more exhausted at school, but decided not to question it, he knew Midoriya was training hard.

And so the ten months passed in a flash, it was time for the awaited U.A's Entrance Exam.
Students from all over the country gathered for a chance to join Japan's most prestigious hero academy.
Kaito and Midoriya decided to arrive early, better to arrive early than late, a hero should never be late after all.

"I guess this is it, huh?" Said Kaito looking at the building with the symbol of U.A standing proudly at the top.

"Y-Yes, the first step for being a pro!" Both started fanboying about the moment and the hero busts that adorned U.A's main gate.

"Stupid Deku..."

Both looked behind to find Bakugo.
"Sigh... Here we go." Muttered Kaito.

"Get out of my way before I set you two on fire!" Said Bakugo, in a ANGERY, tone.

"Oh, hey good morning! Let's all do our best out there!" Midoriya wiggled his arms as if defending himself.

"I had forgotten about this jerk, you ok?" Politely asked Kaito.

"Yeah, ever since that sludge villain he's been taking it easy on me."

"Oh yeah, I can tell! Well, let's go."

As the two were about to continue their path, Midoriya tripped on himself. When Kaito looked, Midoriya had stopped mid-fall, and a girl with light brown hair as her eyes, was holding him by the backpack.

"Are you ok?" She asked with a cute giggle. Midoriya got startled as he noted that he had stopped mid air, and then he was on the ground again.

"I stopped you with my quirk, I'm sorry I didn't ask first. She continued.

"Well, thanks for saving him, he's just a little too nervous for being here, that's all."

"I understand. Isn't this all like, way nerve wracking? Well, I guess I'll see you guys inside." She went on ahead.

"What's wrong?" Kaito looked at Midoriya who was left speechless.

"Holy woah, I just talked to a girl!" He finally talked. Kaito scrached his head, confused.

"But... You didn-... Nevermind."

Midoriya laughed happily as they walked towards the building.
