Left here at the altar
It's was over before it began
Numbness decends to smother me
First my mind and then my hands
Everything is torn to shreds
I'm left with nothing yet again
A hearty laugh rings in my ears
How I must look now to my peers
The demon sits back and watches his work unfold inside my eyes
Building up to a final goodbye
Thanks for that and here you go
A middle finger and a faint hello
To a new world dawning
In the rubble of my life
A lot now cleared of distracting strife
A fresh clean slate before me now
Still feeling the sudden building fell
The books slams shut
And another opens up
To a new story forming
In the left over muck
What a sudden goodbye
I wasn't ready to go
But like a computer, the memory will always remain, so
Now onto what's next
What new challenge awaits
I'll throw on my coat
And go to greet my fate
