Another Week

Now is the start
Of a really long week
Spent out in the field
With 5 hours of sleep
The sun beating down
The work piling up
Endless tests and meetings
I feel like giving up
Being here is so miserable
Life is leaving everyday
3 weeks left then off we go
To another cage, far away
Where the sun burns hotter
And the waiting seems longer
Till I am free to breathe
And the world opens up to me
Now only a vision gleaming
A long road ahead
I'm left here dreaming
Of a long life lived instead
