Going along with the moment
What time gives or takes
Along the flow of seconds
That tick away our lives
Moving with the shifting shapes
Up early in the morning
Dancing down the street
Side by side
Arriving as we should at noon
Suddenly stuck together
In the middle of the day
Somehow we drifted onward
Dragging along our hopes
Our expectations unfulfilled
As we lay down to dream again
