The Day After

You wake up into normality
The air around is dead
Like snapping into sobriety
Completely separated

From the people and places
The careless and the calm
Now just disappointed faces
Bullets blood and bombs

The trance is gone again
Another memory in storage
A trace of what has been
A hazy moving image

The day after, you realize
For a moment to no avail
You're played and paralyzed
In circles chasing your tail

The dead air still around you
The world starts to turn
Artificial fear growing new
Orchestrated blazes burn

A vibratory field
That connected all for a day
True meaning revealed
Though never meant to stay

Before our eyes falls a token
Swinging on a chain
Back to free will, broken
Back to sleep away the pain

This time there is no affect
Hear the songs and laughter
The rising of our consciousness
Waking on the day after
