105 - Revenge (Part 2)

Once we got to his car, he opened the passenger side for me and proceeded to place my bags at the back. After doing so, he eventually closed the trunk and slipped into the driver's seat, looking a bit ticked off as he started to drive.

"Well that felt like a scene from The DUFF except you actually stood up to her unlike Wes." I said, breaking the silence between the two of us, making him laugh.

"Again with the references."

"So, captain huh? I mean, I've been to and watched all of your games but I never knew that you were appointed as captain."

"It was supposed to be announced in the pep rally next week... You've been to all my games? I thought you never really understood the concept of the game?"

"I eventually did after a while of watching you. And why wouldn't I go? You're my best friend."

"God, you're too good to me."

"I'm just keeping my side of our pact. We promised to be there for one another, remember?"

"I'm sorry for not keeping my end."

"Can you please stop apologizing? You can still make it up to me in the future."

"I know but... I just feel guilty for leaving you like that, that's all."

"You never left, Shawn."

We eventually reached home, pulling over in their driveway. We both went out of the car and took the shopping bags out of the trunk. I tried to carry all of them by myself, making him raise his eyebrow at me.

"You sure you can take all of that? I can help." He said, walking over to my side.

"I'm good, thanks. Also, thanks for tonight." I said, giving him a small smile.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

"See you tomorrow."

"Good night."

"Good night." I repeated, slowly making my way over to my doorstep before turning back. "Oh and Shawn?"

"Yeah?" He asked, stopping his actions as he was about to open the door of his house.

"Why don't we match tomorrow? Still have your red and black flannel?"

"Yeah."

"Then it's settled. Just imagine Sid's reaction to us wearing similar clothes."

"You're a genius, y/n." He said, smiling widely before waving.

I walked into the house as well, immediately making my way to my room. I laid everything on the floor and plopped down on my bed. The next morning, I forced myself to wake up and get ready. I put on a black body suit and a red and black checkered flannel, similar to his. Me being my lazy ass self, took out a black skater skirt and put it on, not wanting to be bothered with squeezing into a pair of black skinny jeans. I slipped on a pair of black stockings and a pair of heeled suede boots that we bought yesterday.

I finished getting ready and grabbed the gray sling bag from the corner of my bed. I made my way downstairs to eat breakfast only to be surprised by an unusual yet familiar sight. Shawn was at the table, eating a bowl of cereal with another one beside him, completely untouched. His head snapped towards the stairs as he heard my footsteps descending, his eyes growing animatedly larger as he saw me.

"Well damn, y/n." He said, a small smile forming on his lips.

"Good morning to you too, Mendes." I joked, sitting beside him and taking the extra bowl, smiling as I saw the cup of coffee in front of me. "What are you doing here?"
