New year, new me. Oh, what a load ot bullshit. Just because 2017 is over doesn't mean that I'll change my attitude for the sake of the assholes I'm surrounded with. Don't get me started on the whole New Year's Resolution thing. Instead of writing a list about what you should do, why don't you shut the fuck up and actually do it? Or better, don't waste your time thinking about what you would do since you're not gonna get anywhere in the first place.

"Y/n!" Y/bff/n yelled from the other side of the hallway, running over to me as I took some of the books out of my locker.

I groaned before turning to face her. "What?"

"Jeez, why are you so grumpy this morning?"

"Why are you so cheerful and happy?"

"Good point. Happy new year, by the way."

"Y/bff/n, it's just a new year. Why must people make such a big deal out of it? It's another three hundred sixty-five days of striving to survive and suffering."

"Oh, come on. Have you at least thought of your resolution?"

"Yup. Be a bitch since every time I tell myself to be nice each year, it ends up being forgotten once I see people."

She just sighed as we made our way to our class. "How are we even friends? We're the complete opposites of each other."

I just chuckled and shrugged. Once we stopped in front of my classroom, we split ways considering hers is still at the second floor. I slowly made my way to my seat and slouched down. I closed my eyes and tried to breathe as the feeling of being trapped sinks in. Four more days, y/n. Just wait until the week ends and you'll be safe.

"Already thinking of me, babe?" The voice of the person I can't stand said as I felt a presence from the chair beside mine.

"Get your head out of your ass and fuck off, Mendes." I groaned, opening my eyes just to send a glare over to his direction.

"Why would I when I have you to do that for me?"

I just rolled my eyes and flipped him off before getting my phone out. I tried to distract myself by going on Instagram just to pass the time since our teacher's taking forever just to get here.

"Since Sir Grayson's not here yet, why don't we go somewhere else so we could have a little fun?" He whispered, moving closer to me.

"How about no?" I glared at him one last time before returning to my previous actions.

Ten agonizing minutes later, someone from the office dismissed us since it turns out, our teacher decided to call in sick. We all know that's not true. He probably got too wasted last night. I was about to head out to the small café inside the campus but was pinned against the door near a slightly secluded area.

"So, I wasn't able to ask, what's your new year's resolution?" Shawn asked, getting a bit too close than I would like. If he wants to play, I'm in.

"Do you really want to know?" I asked, pulling him closer to me by the collar of his shirt, making him gulp.

"Y-yeah."

"My resolution is..." I whispered, my lips nearing his ear as I ran my hand up and down his arm, his breathing getting visibly heavier. "To stay away from you."

I pushed him away and turned to leave but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me backwards, his chest against my back. Here lowered his lips to my ear as he held me closer to him.

"How's that working out for you, sweetheart?" I can already imagine him smirking, making a growl erupt from the back of my throat. "I only want one thing... And that's to make you mine."
