"I can't believe you!" I yelled as tears streamed down my face. "Just friends my ass!"

"But we are!" He argued, trying to grab my hand only for me to step away from him.

"'Just friends' don't hug each other like that in public. 'Just friends' don't show PDA. They don't go to each other's hometown during Christmas instead of spending it with their family. They don't fucking kiss and snuggle especially when one is already seeing someone! You've been lying to me all this time!"

"I'm sorry..."

"Sorry?! As if that's going to fix the damage you've done. I loved you and you cheated on me just like that. We're over, Shawn."

"Fine then! I don't fucking need you!"

"Merry fucking Christmas, you fucking man whore! I hope you're happy with yourself because no one else is fucking laughing!"

And with that, I packed up my things and left. So much for  forever.

This was a mistake. Definitely a big mistake. I shouldn't have come. Why did I let my friends convince me into going?! I need to leave now.

"Y/n?" Y/bff/n said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What is he doing here?" I whispered, trying to wipe off any trace of panic from my face.

"He's a friend of Bradley's. Remember when I told you that it'll just be a dinner with our friends as well as my boyfriend's?" (And yes, I mean Brad Simpson from The Vamps)

"You should have told me! Y/bff/n, you of all people know what happened between the two of us!"

"Just for a few hours, please."

"He cheated on me, y/bff/n. With someone who's also well known. It spread like wildfire on the internet and I had to suffer the pitied stares from people I didn't even know!"

"That was two years ago. Please, y/n. Just for a few hours then you never have to see him again. For the sake of Christmas spirit, please."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I can do this... I can do this. Just try to survive at least an hour of not throwing a shoe in his face and I'll be good. I will never have to see him again other than in TV and social media, of course but I could always skip and block him in those.

"Fine." I muttered before getting dragged into the restaurant.

Some of the guys and my best friend's other friends stood up and greeted me when we got in. The guys from her boyfriend's band and his friends that I have gotten to know in their attempt to match me with someone had tackled me into a hug. How my best friend got to know the members of The Vamps, I have no idea. But since we have been friends for years, I've gotten to know the four as well as the lads of New Hope Club thus the reason why Reece and James are the ones closest to me. I sat down in between y/bff/n and Reece. He smiled at me and placed his arm around my shoulder once I was seated.

I could feel a pair of chocolate brown eyes staring at me yet I didn't even acknowledge him. Everyone had started talking about multiple topics with the people near them while oblivious to the elephant in the room. The dinner went by smoothly. Blake and George shamelessly teased me with Reece, dragging almost everyone into it.

"Guys, can't a guy and a girl be just friends?" Reece asked, chuckling at his mates as they made stupid conclusions about us secretly dating.

"We're close, so what? Doesn't mean we're dating behind your backs." I said, laughing along with Reece as they gave us expressions of clear disbelief.
