Today I woke up early and happy, two things that don't usually happen in the morning. Before my alarm could even sound I turned it off and started my day. With I smile on my face, I actually made a full breakfast for myself, which normally doesn't happen, I usually just eat a bowl of cereal and rush to work.

*Ding*

After finishing up the dishes, I looked over at my phone on the table and saw a message from Wilford

Get in loser, we're going to work

With a confused look, I grabbed my things and saw from the window, Wilford outside waiting in his car. I stood outside my door and laughed, "How early did you leave your house? Doesn't it take like, three hours to get in the city from where you live?" I locked the door behind me and got in the shotgun seat "Good morning, boss!" Wilford chuckled "Well, aren't you in a happy mood" I snorted, "That's calling the kettle black"

Me and Wilford entered the building, talking about random things (and possible future dates) until we made it to our offices, then we parted ways. As soon as I sat down at my chair Katherine, Tyler and Ethan ran in, wide eyes staring at me. "Uh... Hi guys, what'cha doing here...?" Tyler decided to speak up, "You do know that everyone was watching you earlier, right?" A look of confusion flashed on my face before a red blush replaced it. "Oh my god...!" Kathryn bounced up to me with a mischievous smile "Tell me everything that happened last weekend!" Tyler and Ethan looked at me expectantly with matching smiles

Oh god...

During my lunch break with Ethan, I heard all the other people in the office whispering behind my back. I don't know if they were being loud on purpose or if I'm just so used to hearing people talk about me that I've gotten skilled at listening.

"You saw how close they were with Warfstache earlier?"

"Two months here and they're already dating the boss? Ugh"

"Right?"

I finished up my sandwich and threw away the plastic bag before going to Ethan again, I sat there with my face against the table. Ethan put his hand on mine and looked at me reassuringly "Hey. Don't mind them, alright?" I looked up at him with a half-hearted smile "Yeah" I'm glad I have Ethan as a friend

My chair nearly fell, along with me on it. I looked back at what caused the disturbance but only saw a couple of my coworkers walking out of the break room, their gossiping chatter fading with them. I glared at their retreating forms as a slight growl escaped my lips, "Assholes..." Ethan was glaring in their direction too "Yeah, fuck them" I turned my attention away from them and laid against the table again "What the hell is this? I'm not in high school anymore," I muttered angrily. "People love to hate, I'm sorry Y/N," Ethan gave me a comforting pat.
