When I made it up to the bedroom I found Titus was in the shower.

As much as I wanted nothing more but to walk in there and just be with him, I knew that after everything that had just happened, My Mate would need to left.lone for a moment to really let everything settle and hopefully he could also begin to let it all go.

The last thing I wanted was for him to harp on any of this.

So instead of joining him I made my way to the closet and grabbed a spare nightgown...it closely resembled the one I wore for our mating ceremony.

I collected some fresh underwear as well and made my way to my old private quarters.

I had my own shower and took care to use the hygiene products that smelt of roses.

I wanted to do my best to calm my husband and I knew my scent helps to calm him...and from what he's told me on various occassions, my scent has a warm rose scent.

When I got out of the shower I toweled off and ran the blow drier through my hair so I wouldn't look like a wet mop.

Once I was clean I padded back to our room to find Titus already in bed...His right arm draped over his eyes.

I silently made my way into the bed and cuddled next to him.

He sighed heavily and I could hear the weight of this burden taking it's toll on him already.

"Hey."I sounded softly.

He moved his arm and looked at me, his handsome face was washed with fear and sadness, every worry and insecuirty was on full display for me now.

He forced a small smile as he reached his left arm out so that I could rest my head on his shoulder and better cuddle into his side.

I looked at him and couldn't help but sigh. "I missed you."

It was was all I could really say...I didn't want to talk about Rich or my dad, didn't want to talk about being taken or what I had seen in the basement...just knowing he had to live with killing his father and brother in law was too much for him to have to bear.

"I know Love...I missed you too." He said before he kissed my forehead and closed his eyes.

In the days that passed everyone slowly began making their way home.

"You'll be living with us." Flora smiled sweetly as she hugged Vale,

"And you'll be staying with us for the summer." Nico smiled.

The boys (while Nico is a couple years older) had become quick friends, over their shared love of video games and go carting.

"Not to mention you'll all be coming here for the holidays." I offered, Titus smiled and nodded in agreement.

I wasn't the only one who noticed his more silent and sullen demeanor in the days since my husband had to make a difficult choice about my father and brother.

Of course everyone who had found out about their deaths said it was the right choice. If for any reason we would have let them live others could think it we were weak, more so my father and brother could've retaliated had we let them live and just strip away their titles...no, in the end death was the only choice.

But I couldn't help but feel like it was weighing him down.

Evan decided to have the remains from that event be cremated and have their ashes sent back to their mates since they wouldn't get to bury the bodies...from what I'm told without so much detail I was assured that burials would've been useless due to the sparse remnant.
