Events like these aren't the easiest thing for me. I get so nervous, but usually those nerves fade a bit through the night.

I should be used to this by now, but I'm not.

I look at my reflection in the mirror as multiple people surround me. My hair and makeup are being done, I'm being shown the jewelry I'm going to wear, I'm being told which reporters are wanting interviews, and many other things.

"Let's not overwhelm her now." I turn around at the sound of his voice. I can't help but smile at how amazing he looks.

"I'm surprised you aren't freaking out considering this is your first gala." I say and he chuckles. "You look good." I say and he holds out his arms and turns so I can see the whole outfit.

We are both wearing Tommy Hilfigure tonight because Shawn is doing a campaign with him.

"When do I get to see your outfit? Or is that silk robe it?" He asks and I roll my eyes.

"Look straight ahead please." My hairstylist, Kate, says and so I look at Shawn through the reflection of my mirror.

"My dress is over there." I say and motion with my hand.

I watch as Shawn walks over to the dress hanging on a clothing rack. He traces the material with his fingers and then looks over at me.

"I bet it'll look a thousand times better on you." He says.

"Yes and now we have to get her into it. So that means you need to leave." Lana, my fashion stylist says and shoos Shawn away.

"See you in a bit!" Shawn says and I wave him goodbye.

"All finished here. She's ready for the dress." Kate says and so I take off my robe and Lana helps me into the dress carefully.

"Now Jane will be helping you on the carpet with the train, and Shawn will help too." Lana says and she smooths everything out.

I nod my head as she zips up the back and then hands me my shoes. I slip on the heels and then walk over to look at the final masterpiece.

"Wow. You guys never seize to amaze me." I say and turn from side to side to admire every part of this look.

From the flower crown on my head to the shoes I'm wearing, everything is perfect.

"Oh you are the one who makes it work dear." Opal, my makeup artist says.

I walk out of my hotel room and just as I did, Shawn came out of his as well.

"Wow." Shawn says and I smile.

"That's what I said." I say and walk over to him. I kiss his lips softly, trying not to ruin my makeup.

"Okay time to get to the car.  You two can't be late." Jane says and checks her phone.

I nod and Shawn intertwines his fingers with mine and we make our way out to the car.

When we arrived at the gala, Shawn helped me out of the car and immediately, cameras started flashing in our faces.

Both Shawn and I kept our heads down and tried our best to see where we are going.

Jane helped keep the train of my dress from getting stepped on and so did Shawn.

We did many interviews, posed for pictures, and many other things. The night went on and was so much fun.

Shawn was doing really well. We talked and danced and there were many activities for everyone.

Towards the end, Shawn and I got to change which was a relief.

When it was all over, we headed back to the car where we got our picture taken some more.

"Geez I think I just might be blind." I joke as soon as we are in the car.

Shawn half heartedly chuckles. He grabs his head and leans it back again the seat. He closes his eyes and let's out a sigh.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"I've got a migraine from all the flashes." He says.

"Here." I reach for award and grab a bottle of water and hand it to him. "Drink some water." I say and so he does.

The ride was quiet and Shawn kept his eyes closed. He grabbed my hand in his halfway through the ride which made me smile.

I drew circles on the back of his hand with my thumb and then we finally arrived at the hotel.

We got out of the car and made our way to our room.

"I'll get you some ibuprofen." I tell him and he nods.

Shawn goes to lie down and I go to the bathroom and dig through my bag until I find the bottle.

I take two pills out and then put the bottle back.

"Here you go." I say and hand him the pills along with his water.

He sits up and swallows the pills one by one before lying back down.

I kick off my shoes and I was going to go clean up, but Shawn grabbed my hand.

"No don't go." He whines and I smile.

"Shawn I need to clean up all this mess." I say and motion around.

"No, just lie here with me for a little bit." He says and I look at him. "Please." He says and looks at me with those dreamy eyes of his.

"Fine." I say and lie next to him. I prop my head up on my hand and watch him.

"I had a lot of fun." He says.

"I'm glad. How'd you like being all dressed up and shown off?" I ask and he softy laughs.

"I actually didn't mind it. This campaign is going to be good." He says and I nod.

"I know. I've seen some of the pictures." I say and he smiles. "You look incredibly cute." I say.

We lie in a comfortable silence for a minuet before Shawn speaks up again.

"Will you take my shirt off?" He asks me.

"Why can't you?" I ask with a laugh.

"I'm too tired." He complains and I roll my eyes.

"Okay okay." I say and sit up.

He smiles and I just give him a look. I unbutton his shirt and then open it up revealing his chest.

I pull the sleeves off from his arms and toss the shirt on a nearby chair.

"There." I say and when I turn back to Shawn, he wraps his arms around me and turns me over so that I'm lying on my back.

I let out a laugh and see him smiling.

"Even though you looked incredible tonight, I think you look even better right here like this with me." He says before leaning in and pressing his lips to mine.

"What happened to your migraine?" I asked with a smirk.

"Oh my head is still pounding, but that's not going to stop me from kissing you." He says and kisses me once more.

He lies his head on my stomach and I play with his hair, slowly running my hand back and fourth through it.

"Shawn Mendes." I say with a sigh. "What am I going to do with you?" I could feel him smile and that made me smile.
