You've been with Shawn for three years now. You've been away on a trip for college and you come home early to surprise him.

You're POV

I've been trying to go over in my head just how I'm going to surprise him. I really want him to be surprised when he sees me.

I pull into the parking lot and park in my space. After turning off the engine, I grab my bags and start towards the entrance.

A few minuets later I finally make it to the apartment door. Shawn is off today so he should be home.

I've missed him so much and I can't wait to wrap my arms around him and kiss him.

I quietly unlock the door and when I open it I expect to see him somewhere in the living room, but I don't.

The tv is left on and there are empty beer bottles all on the coffee table.

I look around to see that he's no where in sight. I walk through the halls and check the bedroom to see that he's not in here either.

The bed is left messy and unmade and there is dirty laundryman eveywhere.

What is going on?

I finally see the light on in the bathroom and the door is slightly ajar.

I leave my bags by the bed and go to gently push open the bathroom door. To my complete and utter surprise, there he is lying on the floor. An alcohol bottle in his hand.

He's staring up at the ceiling until he shifts his eyes over to me. Then they widen in shock to see me here.

"Shawn." I say at a complete loss for words.

"Y/n." He says and quickly gets up. A little too quickly I'm guessing because he grabbed his head for a moment after sitting up.

"What are you doing?" I ask him and I guess he could here the worry in my voice.

"I just...nothing." He says and shakes his head.

"Don't tell me nothing. Clearly it was something." I say and he sighs and leans his head back on the wall.

I get down on the floor next to him and examine his face.

He has dark bags under his eyes indicating that he hasn't really slept. He smells of alcohol, clearly from drinking.

"Let me see this." I say taking the bottle from his hands and setting it on the bathroom counter. I remember all the empty bottles in the living room and now I'm a bit more concerned.

"Shawn how much have you had to drink since I've been gone?" I ask and he opens his eyes and looks down at his feet as if trying to add up the number in his head.

"I'm not even sure." He says and I take that as a no so good thing.

"What's going on?" I ask him and he lets out a deep breath.

"I told you nothing." He says in a frustrated tone this time.

"Shawn Peter Raul. I've been with you too long for you to push me away like this." I say and he looks at me. I'm unable to read the expression on his face, but his eyes show a hint of pain.

I take his face into my hands. "Shawn I'm worried. So please talk to me." I say.

His face softens and his shoulders drop.
