Shocked

I was shaking so much from the shock. Adam took me by surprise. Miranda made me some tea and gives it to me.

"Here's some tea."

"Thank you."

"That was awful. I can't believe he did that."

My uncle and Jake came in and came towards us.

"Are you ok?" my uncle asks.

"No. I'm kinda freaking out."

"It's ok. Calm down." Jake says wrapping his arm around me.

"I'm trying to. That was really scary. I tried pushing him away, but he was too strong."

"That was the last time he's coming near you again." my uncle says to me.

"I agree." Jake nods.

"Oh no. I'm taking him to court and this is what happens when I do."

"You're taking him to court?"

"Yes. He kidnapped me."

"He what?" my uncle got mad.

"I can't believe he did this. What a jerk."

"Calm down sweetheart." Miranda says.

"Do you have a lawyer?"

"Yes. That reminds me. I recorded this whole thing."

"You recorded it?"

"Yeah. I need everything I can get to put him away."

"That's good."

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" my uncle asks.

"There wasn't any time. Everything is a mess."

"Everything will be ok." Miranda says.

"Thanks for saving me."

"You know you're like a daughter to me. I just wish you told me about all of this."

"I'm sorry. There wasn't any time."

"Lets not start a fight here Ben."

"I'm not mad. I just wish she came to me when Adam kidnapped her."

"She knows she can always come to me."

"She knows that Ben. But I'm sure she has her reason to why she didn't."

"I'm sorry I didn't come to you uncle Ben."

"It's ok. I'm just glad you are ok."

"I am too."

"Thank you. Both of you."

"Thank you for helping me Jake."

"I was wrong about him Jen. And I'm sorry."

"It's ok. I guess we both were."

"I'm going to go give this to my lawyer. Thanks again uncle Ben. And Jake I'll meet you at home."

"Ok."

"Thank you for the tea Miranda."

"You're welcome honey. And we are both here for you if you need anything."

"Thanks."

I left and went to Andrea. I gave her the recording and she added it to the evidence file. I left her office and went home.

El was already waiting for me to help me get ready for my date with Jake. She puts out a few dresses on my bed. Yes all were dresses. 

"Are you ok? Jake just told me what happened."

"Yes. I'm ok now. It was scary. I thought he was going to attack me."

"Well I want to kill him."

"I just want to forget this now. And focus on my date with Jake."

"Yes. So here are your options I put out for you." 

"El...."

"What?"

"Do I really need to wear a dress?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yes. You will put on a dress. You have to look pretty for tonight."

"I can look pretty without a dress. And Jake knows me. He likes me just the way I am."

"You will put on a dress. Don't argue with me. I'm not taking no for an answer."

"Fine. You take the pink ones out. There is no way I'm putting them on."

"Fine." 

She puts the pink ones back and I tried on some of the dresses. The last dress was a red, lace, silky dress. It was so beautiful. 

"I like this one."

"You look stunning in that dress. I think that's the one."

"I think so too."

I put on some red puffs with it. And El stares at me.

"Seriously? Can't you put other shoes on?"

"Leave my shoes alone. They are mine. And I can wear them if I want to."

"Fine whatever."

We continued getting me ready for my first official date with Jake Warner. I had so many butterflies in my stomach. I was so nervous and excited. My stomach was turning. 

"You're all set." 

She looks at me with tears in her eyes.

"What?"

"You look so beautiful."

I blushed a little and chuckled. 

"I'm so taking a picture of this moment."

She took a few pics of me. 

"Ok. That's enough. I should go."

"Yes you should."

She hugs me tight.

"Have fun." 

She kissed me on the cheek and leave the room. 

I stood there for a while in front of the mirror. Trying to calm my nerves before I go out. 

"This is it."

I took one last breath in and went out the door of my room.
