"mum, i'm getting married," phil said into the phone. he had a wide smile on his face and he had made sure dan left to get groceries before calling.
"you are? how did the proposal go?" his mum tried to make conversation but phil automatically blushed when he realized what exactly he was doing. he had just gotten the ring in the mail, too scared to get it in person for fear that dan would find out.
"well i haven't exactly done that yet. i just got the ring today," phil scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and ran his thumb over the stones on the band of dan's ring.
"i wouldn't worry, dan will say yes," his mum reassured him. phil nodded to himself, sighing out his nerves.
"i know. i just wanted to let you know that it will be happening. it's seriously happening."
